    Oh, is that the reason?

Let me be clear, since I guess I wasn't before. Staff is deliberately being a little more lenient about a lot of things. People have been discussing these mods on other threads and were not in any way reprimanded, warned, or infracted. (Please note that on that last link, all that happened was RST removed a direct link; he didn't delete the post or infract the user. And that was back in December.) We've had discussions about it internally, and what it means that 343i is looking the other way (at least so far) on these kind of harmless mods. As xAudienceofone pointed out, we've also been taking it way easier on infractions in general - ignoring lots of posts that used to be considered spam, and gently warning rather than infracting for all manner of other rules violations.

In general, we are trying to be a lot more hospitable here, and respond to what the community wants. We're trying to be a better home to you guys. We haven't made a big thing about it, but hopefully the evidence is all over the board.

Now if you haven't detected it with your own two eyes, and aren't willing to take my word for it, then I guess that's your right. But I'm telling you: this is what's going on. It's not favoritism. If you put up a thread exactly like this one, mentioning but not linking to a modded gametype (particularly in a context that is about something other than just the mod), we're not going to infract you. We might talk about it amongst staff, because this issue is still under discussion about exactly how we want to handle it, but you're not going to get your hand smacked. The reason FH can't officially support mods is that we don't want to get any of our members banhammered, or ruin our relationship with the people who make Halo. But if we feel we can be a little more flexible without either of those things happening, we're going to try to.

Finally, let's be clear about one more thing. What is being advertised here is a map, not a mod. I played it with a mod, but I also played it regular-sized. I didn't make the mod and I'm not going to be putting it in my fileshare. So what am I advertising? People have posted direct links to YouTube videos that tell you how to download these things (that's actually how I found out about this mod in the first place - a post from this forum); if anything that's more a form of advertising than what I'm doing here, yet it was unpunished.

Very well worded duster. And its true. If anything the one's with this (the mod) in their fileshare's are at risk and as you noted this thread is about the map not the gametype it was designed for. So I would ask that people get over the gametype it was designed around and post about the map that I btw think is well built.

I can't help but to think that this is not the place to complain about favoritism green. If you want to complain about how forgehub is corrupt and that you should leave go do it in the appropriate thread, this is a map preview and I feel that this arguement is getting out of hand.

Now see - if we were playing by the old rulebook, I'd be infracting that comment right now.

Nutduster... well said bud... and Fenix Hulk I agree with you mostly. I only complain about matchmaking really because Big Team Infinity Slayer isn't fun for me anymore like it was in Halo 3 or even Halo: Reach. Now custom Big Team Slayer...amazing because you can tweak it and modify it coupled with Forge maps. Official online matchmaking BTB... it's just ****in' annoying the way it's setup right now.

Now back to subject at hand.... I got a really really cool idea for the foot-tall spartan slayer. Here's hoping I can pull it off.

Actually, I am finding making a map for foot-tall spartans that looks aesthetically pleasing; pretty difficult. At least what I am trying to do (streets/buildings similar to Times Square).

On a refreshingly on-topic note, this map was really fun when we played it. It looked so very odd with all the pieces one would instinctively use to forge with replaced by smaller bits. It was indeed very clever.

    Oh and hello Overdoziz.

Is this not in your file share anymore? I tried looking for it last night and couldn't find it. I'd love to have this map, as it looks fantastic. I've also got G0F's mini version of Pit, and am working on a mini Narrows of my own. I'm thinking of hosting a mini-customs game night, and would really like to have a few games on your map.
