If all goes according to plan, this will be my submission for the 2v2 Dust Up. I haven't played any games on it yet, but I'm bringing it to Dax's 2v2 lobby tomorrow morning if anyone would like to join. I'll bring coffee! Annex is a small asymmetrical map designed for (duh) 2v2, but supporting up to 4v4 and 6FFA. That doesn't mean it will play well with that many people, but the option is there for those that want it. While I've started a few that never got off the ground, this is the first asymmetrical map I've seen through to completion, and the first 2v2 I've ever started or finished. It supports both FFA and team gametypes: Slayer, Oddball, and CTF. My main concerns are spawning and weapon placement right now, but I'm open to suggestions across the board. The easiest way to download is still to search for my GT: FragsturBait. Now on to pictures! The map is built around a multi-level, atrium, with multiple top to bottom routes around the edges. Rockets spawn in the basement with two shots on a two minute timer. The gravlift provides quick access to the main floor. G2 entrance is on the porch, which also has a drop down to the basement, a ramp to blue flag, and a ramp to the backside of the balcony. G2 exits on a ledge in the atrium, visible in the first image. There is also a man cannon linking the low side of the map with the balcony. It's possible to jump back down, but only using sprint. The top left doorway leads to an enclosed ramp to the basement, and to the low end of the porch, visible on the left side of the 8th image. As always, any feedback is greatly appreciated.
I may end up throwing this up for my 2 slots in the FFC lobby if I can't get my 2v2 map ready in time. That is, assuming you don't mind?
Permission granted. I'm planning on running Slayer tomorrow morning, can you test CTF and Oddball? I think those gametypes might work better 3v3 anyway. post feedback here plox? This thread will probably be buried by Friday anyway.
Well, that centrepiece is the best usage of dynamic lighting I have seen yet. Dat shadowww! As for the map, it's hard to grasp am idea of layout from the images without an overview, but it looks pretty good. Your piece usage is really interesting too, especially those Y Platforms. Ill keep an eye out for this map.
