This game looks so amazing. I stopped playing medieval MMO games with Runescape right before I started Halo 3 on LIVE, but I think I might try to get back into having no life in front of my computer screen for this.

Pretty sure there are signups for the beta right now, right? I'd better get on that.

Love Elder Scrolls, do not enjoy MMO's, have no inclination to get into them. Personally I'm waiting for Fallout 4 info more than ES Online info.

The graphics look a little bit more toon-ish. I never like MMOs but I might give this a try.

I never really played MMOs before. I played a bit of Runescape, but never really got into it. However, I love the Elder Scrolls so I got really excited about this. I hope they don't screw it up.

I've always been a huge fan of MMOs. When I was little I started out with Runescape, setting up a whole iron ore business and making mini clans... And exploring with my pet cat in Ardougne... Good times haha.

After Runescape I started downloading a load of anime MMOs like Dream of Mirror, Fiesta and Flyff, but realised they were all the same so stopped bothering to play them.

I then tried to get into WoW a while back but found it too repetitive.

I don't know about this one. I'd definitely like to try it out but I don't know if I have the time anymore, since starting college. It seems rather similar to Guild Wars 2 in terms of gameplay, so I'll be looking at reviews once both games are out and deciding then. But I probably won't be playing it anytime soon, what with college and my ForgeHub commitments, haha.

Signed up for the beta yesterday. Looks alright, I'm not a fan of MMOs, but I do like TES so I'll give this one a chance to impress me. Only complaint so far is it looks like there'll be no first person perspective. I'd feel more immersed in the game if it were implemented, but I suppose, for technical reasons, they only have 3PP.

The fact that they've included all of Tamriel makes me slightly more interested, though. I wonder just how big the map will end up being.

Heh seems like alot of us started out in Runescape. Never been a fan of the anime style MMO's so this seems like a good break. Just signed up for the beta. PS You should add links to the site.

I hate MMOs. I may try this one out after it's released if it's still meeting all of my criteria. (Eg. No ****ing subscription fees, little to no grinding, half decent storyline, etc.)

Also, I really hope first person combat is an option in the full game. That's a huge part of what makes Elder Scrolls games unique and it'd be a real shame to not have that.

I've definitely heard somewhere that they will be implementing first-person view. I mean, how can they call it TES without it?

I'll find a source for you all later on today as I can't remember where I heard it.

I'm honestly not either a huge fan or MMORPGs or The Elder Scrolls. I still havent beaten Skyrim. Still, this is intriguing and while I don't expect to go get it (subscription fee or no), I do intend to keep an eye on it. With any luck my friend will get into the beta and I can see it first hand. If not, then too bad for him. :p

it isnt going to be anything like any other TES game. Theyre just using the brand and making a completely different kind of game. kinda like halo wars.
which isnt to say it will be bad. if you like MMOs it might be great, i dont really know. but if you've never really been an MMO person before and are only interested in it because it has "the elder scrolls" in the title, then i wouldnt set your hopes too high.

Lol, I too am among the ex-Runescapers. Long time back :p

I am interested for this one, but I don't think I'll bother till I'm done with Skyrim.

I agree. To be honest, if an MMO played anything like Skyrim it would just be a complete mess. There'd be so many balance issues and interactivity between players would probably be quite limited.

The main reason why I'm looking forward to this one (and thinking about Guild Wars 2) over other MMOs is because they're deviating from the classic MMO formula - as in, no more grinding for hours on end just to unlock a new item or new skill (Runescape, I'm looking at you!).

No, I think the developers of TES Online are looking to immerse players in the world and in the storytelling, while including dungeons/raids/whatever you wanna call them to unlock some pretty cool gear. The combat looks absolutely fantastic, too. Intelligent AI that switches strategy depending on how you play? Yes please!

EDIT - Got the source: search 'Elder Scrolls Online - Alpha Review' in YouTube and click on the first video. Head to 9:55 and the guy says you can have first person, modified third person, directly behind the character view etc. The source may not be reliable, but it's where I heard the information.
