Well, I know I almost literally never play with you guys, but I'll do one of these anyway. I'm Shoe online, Colin offline. The ILR in my name stands for I Love Running. It was a high school cross country thing, if you are ever in Arizona and see ILR carved, drawn, or otherwise impressed in something you now know what it means. I'm a college freshman at ASU. No, it's not nearly as big a party school as it used to be, and I'm a lame ass honors student so I don't really party anyway. I'm looking to become a Level Designer, for which forge has been a valuable tool, even though I'm trying to move towards using real programs more often. Forge is still useful for me however because of how easy it is to create levels for gameplay that still look halfway decent. When I do forger I tend to focus on big team, though I occasionally have tried my hand at 4 v 4's and infection, and even a puzzle map I never finished in Reach. I play customs semi-regularly, though it's usually sporadic and thrown together, so the only time I end up at TCOJ is if the stars line up and we're both on at the same time wanting to play. I always enjoy it when I come though. That's about all for me.
@Audience... That right there is why I made this thread - learning interesting stuff that would never come up in the lobby. What do you write about? I've written one novel myself and have a long-gestating idea for another one. I've also written a lot of short stories and a bunch of songs. Ultimately I think forge is just one more creative outlet for me - I really like it, but it's almost interchangeable with any other creative act. I also draw, off and on... I guess as long as I'm making something, I'm happy. Hey, Shoe sighting! Thanks for stopping by. I always like when you can be in a lobby, though it's infrequent. Stars need to align just so.
That's pretty much how I would describe my school, but it remains a party school... so... I guess I'm just a lame non-honors student. I write about a lot of things. I'm currently on a epic tale based in a continent I created. Magic (limited though), swords, ancient history and zombies. if I ever get it on the shelf forgehub will know, and you can hear more about it then. For now, lets just say it can be compared to George RR Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire, but with less story lines. I found they were great, but a more narrowed down version could gain more focus. Not to say this is another version of his tale in Westaros, bit its written similarly. I know what you mean about creating. I've been writing and making maps (literal maps, not forge or game maps) for at least since I was in 6th grade. Art came to me easy, but I cant say I'm too confident in those skills right now. I'm currently taking a Digital Design course in hopes that will be my medium. I'd love to take a peek at something you've drawn or written. You can see my art in my forgehub portfolio somewhere in the bowels of the art section here, and I think I might have a short story in the blogs section. Not sure about the story though. nobody bothered with it so I may have removed it.
Very cool. I haven't read those books but I do enjoy the series quite a bit. Also read my fair share (and somebody else's, too) of Tolkien. Here's a few that I think turned out pretty well. Forewarning: they're all horror-themed. I'm a part-time metalhead (I listen to all kinds of music, but I've managed to get myself involved in a more-than-casual way with underground metal bands and labels, sort of like I have here with Halo and forge), so all the art I've done lately has been for t-shirts, CDs and such, and a lot of it is pretty dark. Don't expect much though, I'm a casual artist at best. Jimmy the Hideous Corpse Terror in the Dark (H.P. Lovecraft-inspired) Zombies are Disgusting You should throw some links in, I rarely darken the art section but would like to see what you do.
Forgehub Art is here, and in that link, there's a link to my deviant art if you want to see a bit more. All my writing that exists online is also at deviant art. So 2 short stories. Those images are pretty awesome. And oddly familiar... I found Terror in the Dark to remind me of Erosion color-wise. I would have a more in depth response, but im multitasking like crazy now just to get my work done. Also, so much jealous. But, on the bright side, you have given me the desire to play my guitar, so thank you for that.
Oh wow, this looks spiffy. I guess I'll do one of these things too, hopefully I'll make another appearance later down the line. These lobbies are always buckets of fun. Well, I'm That Scorch Guy on XBL and Spiffy, Sir Spiffy, or Sir Spiffyson (depending on availability) everywhere else. I'm just too cheap to get an XBL name change. My real name is Dave or David, without a preference. I used to play Halo a lot more, especially in these lobbies back in Reach but since I've found it harder and harder to pick up Halo 4 (or most XBL games at all, for that matter). I've played Halo since CE, but I only got my own Xbox around halfway through Halo 3; before then I was chilling at various friends houses as a guest online and Chief #2 offline. Since Halo 4's release I find myself unable to take it seriously anymore so I usually goof around when I do end up playing. Instead, I've taken up various indie, single player AAA titles and LoL when I find time to play. I mean, I still love Halo (OT), but Halo 4 feels bleh to me. Outside the online world, I'm almost finished applying to colleges as an incoming Freshman, hoping to get a major in something in the arts with a liberal side to my education as well. As such, I'll probably be mulling about the Art boards more and more as time permits and less on the Halo boards. I need to post some of mah stuff on dA, but I haven't really gotten around to that yet. I recently got back into art, and I'm not very great now, but I work at it each day and hope one day to become a Concept Artist or something similar somewhere in the game industry. That's the dream anyway. I've been considering making a stream for digital painting and LoL as soon as I get a webcam, time to block away for it and I'm decently good at both activities. On another note, ND, those pics are pretty well done IMO. It's neat to see what other people are doing outside of that 3 hour slayfest on Tuesdays.
I'll try to make this long, but I'm bad at making stuff long. I'm CaughtSword4, also known as CS4 or CaughtSword or Caught or Sword. My real name is Josh, and I'm relatively young. I've only been playing Halo since Reach, but I've played a bit of the others. I have the service tag BOSS. I've only had an xbox for less than a year, but I've been playing longer than that. I try to forge, and I have since Reach, but I...well...suck. I like playing forge maps and minigames but I cant really seem to forge one myself. I'm preparing for high school (so I'm in 8th grade) and I've only been a member since August last year. I tried to make this long, but I can't seem to do that.
This thread is a great idea! It makes everyone seem so much more ...human vs. some spartan that makes maps and you happen to shoot in the face every week. I think its safe to say that as forgers we have a lot more in common than we would assume at first. We are all very artistic. Some of us in more ways than others. But we have a certain love of art and structure. On to me. Known as Gorilla around these parts m real name is Cory. I'm not as old as nutduster(I doubt anyone on here is ). I have a wife and a 2yo boy. They consume most of my time. And are a big reason why I have been so absent lately(perhaps more on that later). I have a history in the construction field. After 6 years of building houses the economy took a dump on itself and I am currently a Fire prevention Technician. Construction has always been a big part of my life from legos to actual houses. And forge has been my outlet for that recently. And even though I technically "retired" I can't stop. I used to draw quite a bit back in the day. But not so much anymore unfortunately. I even tried writing. I play a few instruments Guitar, bass and drums. I had a band and even semi-professionally recorded one song. (perhaps I'll get a link to that song some day). But getting married and having kids got in the way of that for a few band members. Being directly involved in construction, I feel that it comes through in some of my forging. More function over fashion. But I do like trying to make it look nice too. I started forging with reach but I've been playing Halo on and off since CE(more off). I joined the hub looking for like-minded people that wanted to play our creations on a weekly basis. Nine months later, TCOJ was born. And the rest, as they say, is history.
I feel so young and out of place with you guys Also, don't feel bad about me not sharing the true name. I'm just raised to be paranoid of giving that sort of thing up online. If you're really curious though I don't mind telling most of you over xbox. No record of it. So yeah, slightly paranoid. I do love our artsy thing we've got going on here. its like art club but more forge involved. I just wish that I could make a damned 4v4 map so that i could play with the rest of you normally. I spent a while making a bit of a possible Endeavor reboot, but Impact's natural geography got in the way and I need to move the whole thing up now. Not looking forward to that. If I do it. Until then, more studying. EDIT: Wait, no its physically impossible I think to do this map... I used to write every day during my break... I miss that.
I'm [REDACTED], I am a recovering OCD wreck I love drawing, and forging, but I find it hard to deal with things that don't work the way they should. I play the violin (mariachi and classical) and currently experiencing the stress that is a full load of AP classes in my senior year of High school, on the upside, I also got a full scholarship to the University of Arizona. Recently got into video games, before then, I drew designs for the various things that popped in my head (and still do occasionally) Nervous about my future, trying to loosen up
I don't really plan on doing any TCOJ, but I wanted something to do so I'm posting here if that is alright. Hey there, I'm Nick, I mean Krootalus, ****, I mean PandaMan. Whatever, you know what I mean. I'm a 17 year old senior in high school. I'm waiting to hear back from some more schools, but I've already gotten in to most of the ones that I wanted to go to. I plan on being a biomedical engineering major and then go on to medical school after I graduate. The goal for me is to become an orthopedic surgeon. I love to read, Ender's Game is my favourite book, followed by A Clockwork Orange. It is my escape, I can pump out a book in a day for about a week if I have nothing else to do. I also spend a lot of time on the computer, but I have not a clue what I do for so long while I'm on it. I write and type the british spellings of words because my dad always used to bring me back books from his business trips to London and it just became familiar to me. It sticks with me today even though I haven't read a British produced book in years. I made a website and project where I and students that I found, interview and write narratives of local veterans and their stories. We've interviewed over 125 veterans so far and we are in our second year. I hope that the project with continue to prosper once I go off to college and it goes in to the hands of the new head that I've selected. I am a terrible forger. I have tried to make 3 maps in my life. Each one was worse than the last. That is all that I'm going to say about that. On a more personal level, I think that I am a terrible human being. I know exactly what to say to people to hurt them the most, and sometimes I say that and it crushes people. I drove one of my best friends, a girl, to cut herself in my drunken stupor. I drink way to much, I can count on one hand how many times I have had something to drink and can remember the whole night, but that is far outweighed by the number of times that I can't remember everything. I finally came to terms with my problem this Sunday, or at least I think I have, we will see, when I thought long and hard about what I had done the previous night. I got absolutely plastered and drove to a friends house. I blacked out midway through driving. I don't think that I am going to drink anymore as I cannot control myself as of now. Anyways, on a different note, I play baseball for my high school. I'm coming back to pitching after I took two years off from that and one from baseball (I played volleyball instead, it was so much fun). I'm hoping to be the number two pitcher, but we'll see. I'll end it on a good note. I'm trying to become a better, more confident, more faithful person now. I'm going to mass three or four times a week. I have cut down on my swearing and racism quite a lot in the past week or two and have been trying to be nicer and more friendly to all the people that I see. I still have several people that I need to talk to and make amends with, but I plan to do that tomorrow, that is the big step for me!
27 years old, been married for 7 years and have 2 kids. Just got out of the US Army after serving 8 years as a Infantryman. Been deployed to Iraq twice and once to Korea. Currently investing into my GI Bill and going to Kansas City Arts Institute to complete a degree in Video Game Design. My hobbies are bodybuilding (if you can't tell from my av) and art.
My name is Rich, 31 years old. British. Married with a 3 year old boy that is the best person I ever knew. Uh, i am socially awkward. Dont do anything interesting or relevant to my forging but i am a failed artist so maybe that has some bearing. Been playing Halo since CE (in college) and trying to forge since h3. Nothing to add except that my social life consists of tuesday night TCOJ, so thanks for having me along.
you are a sad, strange little man. (toy story) You should hop across the pond and I'll show you how to party. ...wait, nevermind I don't party. The only social thing I did was TCOJ and I don't do that much anymore. I'm even more boring than an Englishman! ! Dang.
You're both more boring than everything. It feels strange knowing Juanez has a real name which is defiantly non-Latino-sounding.
Is that avy YOU? Good God, man, scale it back a little. I feel 50% less manly just looking at that thing. I actually just started hitting the gym this week. Been three times now and... well I'm pretty far from ripped, but at least I'm incredibly sore, always. I haven't done weight training since college, oh so long ago. My hope is to be in the best shape of my life within six months. I don't plan to be a lifter but I'd like to have some muscle tone for a change, and maybe at least one ab you can differentiate from its brethren.

I've seen your pictures on gorillagetznaked.com and the only six pack you had was the cheap domestic beer you'd obviously been drinking to get that lumpy physique. BOOM.
