So, along with the majestic map pack, there is supposed to be a new title update Possibly fixing forge, and stuff. >Bringing back FFA >New version of snipers, etc. Any other info on this? Set to release Feb 5th
Forge Test playlist coming January 21st. Owwwwwwww! There will probably not be anyone in the playlist though. Also Team Dubs will debuting. I'm speculating whether or not maps in the Forge Test playlist will be implemented into the Dubs playlist. Lord knows there aren't any maps except Haven and Abandon that can support 2v2's.
I'm guessing they will implement forge maps into dubs. I've heard the deadline for 2v2 maps has already passed, though. Too bad I mean, they could still put Complex into 2v2.. Question to everyone: Do you think the new 2v2 playlist will include or disclude sprint and instant respawn?
Imo it will most certainly include Sprint since there's no setting to disable and I can't see 343 using no Sprint gametypes like that. I suppose they could add an option to disable it in the TU but I doubt it. If they were going to do that I think they would have done so from release, I doubt it's that time intensive. It will probably have instant respawn, and much to its detriment. Hopefully the map lineup will be alright. Haven could play 2v2, and Abandon could also work, but I don't see any of the other default maps playing it very well. I have faith in Bravo to make the right calls here.
I also believe bravo, being a competitive player and not just some guy who sits in an office and changes things will make some good calls for the competitive community.
A Forge test playlist is putting the Forge maps they made on disc (Relay, etc.) in a playlist. I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't add one community map for this "test". As if a Forge playlist needs a test. What they need to test is the file share.
Pretty sure they're adding community maps. There was a request for forged 2v2s not that long ago. Goes with the doubles playlist, I would think.
Well that would be nice and I hope you are right. However, when 343 mentioned the TU update they only mentioned the forge maps they made are being included in the forge test playlist. I specifically recall the Relay map they mentioned. I also recall them saying Grifball playlist.
It's coming out on my Bday. Awesome. With the look of the last map pack; however, I will not be getting the Majestic map pack.
I'm sure Majestic Map Pack will be wayyyy better than the Crimson Map Pack. Crimson Map pack was basically cut content they decided to use as DLC. I hate the Crimson Map Pack, in fact I deleted it just so I could play Exile and Ragnarock BTB because the Crimson maps ruined the voting in BTB. Shattered and Wreckage came up every single time I played a match. Despite them not even being BTB maps.
I may not get Majestic either, as it was disappointing to learn how horrible the framerate lag was on the new map pack that I paid money for. (EDIT: splitscreen, that is. They need to advertise that the game doesn't work for SS if that's the case. don't false advertise) IF that title update also updates the Crimson pack to perform better, perhaps I'll buy more DLC. Besides, I can get all the DLC I want for free here at ForgeHub!!!!
All I know is one of the new maps in the next two packs - or a separate, free map - better be a Forge map.
I don't believe maps should be made with splitscreen in mind. That would mean they would have to take away from the map just so it runs good in splitscreen on a console that doesnt have enough power and is extremely outdated in the first place. splitscreen is really just a bonus and it's pretty horrible to play a game like that also. I know there are people who play with family or friends in splitscreen but don't ask me how they enjoy it. I'd much rather buy a second cheap used xbox and a second copy of halo 4.
A game that supports up to 4 player split screen should be able to comfortably accomodate at least 2 on multiplayer maps without dropping frames like that. Buy a second copy, a second Xbox and a second TV if you want. Don't expect everyone else to.
I really hope they fix forge Once they get a pallet with fixed textures, proper zooming implementation, proper object realignment, fine tuning, fixed physics settings, and actual forge blocks, I will be a happy forger.
I respectfully have to disagree about splitscreen not being important for Halo. That is, in fact, what started it all... remember? That is, in fact, what gets people who play only COD & PC games to come over to your Halo party and sit down and play. That is the only way to sit down with your kid and play together which is the MAIN reason I got my 360. So yes, the game says it supports 4-player splitscreen and the maps say they are for Halo 4 so by any new official maps should work with the game which supports 4 players. Make sense? However, that does not mean that every Forged level should be focussed on splitscreen and making concessions for it. Some should, but not all. I do strongly believe that Map Authors sould start labelling their maps in the descriptions to say "Splitscreen = Yes/No". And to suggest that developers need to remove complexity to make it work for splitscreen is not accurate. They could have just reduced the complexity of textures displayed on pieces for SS and decrease draw distance. They area already doing some of this. There are some details that do not show in SS that I've noticed. But apparently it needs to be a little more. ALso, if they pute more LOS blockers in maps like Shattered (Crimson) then we wouldn't have to view half the level at any one time and get that screen lag. There are other solutions to the problem other than saying "deal with it" but of course if nothing is done I can just deal with it anyway. How I deal with it will probably be not to buy Majestic map pack. But hopefully they've heard some complaints and will improve the next pack and possibly even fix the recent one. That's my opinion but I still respect yours...
Well I'm getting them regardless, I was lucky enough to get a War games map pass. However that doesn't necessarily mean I will enjoy them. I HAAAATE crimson maps. I'm just glad I didn't buy them on their own out of my own cash. ------ Also, I think this whole debate about splitscreen is going nowhere. Everyone has their own experiences based on their TV. My friend has a 50+" screen, we play 4-way splitscreen all the time. If I'm using 1/4th of a 50" screen then my gameplay window is still 25". That isn't that bad, it's bigger than my PC monitor. Provided you're hooked up with HDMI then it should be fine. I can't say I've noticed any framerate issues or anything using splitscreen. Then again it may just be my choice of maps that I play. Something was very briefly mentioned about splitscreen map compatibility in this weeks waypoint update.
that's good to hear they may be trying to improve splitscreen compatibility, as that's what they intended us to use it for. (one use anyway) however, I don't feel like those maps are the ones that screen-lagged for me. the only one I've really had trouble with is Shattered from Crimson. Though, others have mentioned some with trouble. The t hing with SHattered is that I'm typically very good w/ BTB. I place in the top 3 almost every time. But when playing SS on Shattered, i'm like last place with 0/9 kills/deaths. That's not me sucking all of a sudden. It's not being able to aim at a player who is able to aim perfectly at your head. Shattered is the only one that does this for me. I have a Halo 4 LE Xbox 360.
