Grifball's coming to MM, Relay (and presumably Settler and whatever that Erosion default map was called) coming to MM, I can finally get another damn specialization... all good news.
Still nothing about the file browser. I honestly think they have completely given up on halo 4. No longer trying to fix broken **** instead just trying to force new blood into a dead heart with the weekly matchmaking updates.
I wouldn't exactly call Grifball getting into matchmaking the best of news so far out of everything else they announced. It's a broken gametype so far. Someone somewhere decided it would be an amazing idea to lock the goal area to 0.3 in radius and 0.45 in height which makes for an extremely small goal. Couple onto that the fact that respawning is also broken won't make it very fun. That's just 343i's end though. Of the gametype the community put together to fix some of the problems, they decided it would be an amazing idea to put shields in an already very host dependent gametype. Some people have apparently never played HaloBall Xtreme. Ontop of that the 4 respawn points co-ords are difficult to replicate in forge and makes it pretty fun to try and build one of these courts. (/sarcasm).
Quoted for truth. Seriously, there are so many damn bugs in Forge. I have no idea what idiot decided to randomly shift the centers of some pieces (AHEM. 2x2 inclines, 2x2 blocks and Corner 4x4s) by .1.. what the hell does that achieve? Don't tell me NO one used a 2x2 incline, 2x2 block, or corner 4x4 during testing. I'm seriously tempted to forge in Reach. [br][/br]Edited by merge: So they admit it.. [br][/br]Edited by merge: 2v2 playlist in February! YES YES YES YES YES (inb4itonlystays4aweek)
Pretty disappointed in the specialisation news. I thought they were going to add new ones, instead of making the ones already there available. I thought they did that when they messages everyone without the LE their code. Eh, but at least Team Doubles is coming soon and relay is FINALLY getting into matchmaking, settler and ascent are crap
I just kinda skimmed over the bulletin, but did they mention anything about having community forged maps tested for the 2v2 playlist?
I know Homeboyd and/or Bravo were looking for them. I haven't seen him active anywhere recently, though.
Yea, but Homeboyd (in charge of their group over at B.net) either hasn't been on or hasn't approved any new members in at least a few weeks :/
It finally has come this far.. Unacceptable. For me this is disaster, like the say... "Oh.. Yeah well Halo 4 is dead ! Better luck next time ! I Guess.." Halo is my 1# game, all time. Why does this have to happen. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hxvs5bgxhmc http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4uRS-ViOtgo https://forums.halowaypoint.com/yaf_postst177454_343-admits-this-game-is-not-very-good.aspx
Admitting to mistakes while also declaring the game the best Halo game ever made is not exactly declaring Halo 4 dead. I don't know where you're getting that interpretation.
That hadn't occurred to me, but you're probably right. Frankie needed to throw an extra hypen in there or something.
Frank O'Connor is pulling a Peter Molyneux with the whole "oh, I'm not really a fan of how my game came out; I promise the next one will be better so please buy it." All he has left to do is say the same thing when Halo 5 hits.
Why the hell is it a bad thing to admit that your game had flaws, recognize what they were, and promise to fix them next time? I think we tend to forget that the companies who make these kinds of games are made up of people just as human as we are. They aren't machines, they aren't always working in ideal conditions, and they make mistakes just like everyone else. We also focus all our attention on the little things that we think "break the game" while completely ignoring how vast the scope of the game is and how much they got right. Halo 4 isn't dead, it's been a resounding success, especially for the first game out of a new studio. I don't see how Frankie is begging for sales by saying he wants to make a better game next time.
Agreed. I'm tired of hearing how everything 343i does is just for money and how the game is so bad that it killed the series. I'm sorry it didn't live up to your expectations, but saying these things about the developers is incredibly rude, as they put a **** ton of work into this and have only had 1 go at it so far. There are things they got wrong, but they admit that and have even asked for input on what they got wrong, so they don't deserve to get trashed for all they've done.
It's a bad idea not to give two shits about fixing problems because it doesn't give your consumer base much faith in you, or your next game. You have to realize: Halo 4 is a good game at its heart and with all of its potential it's being ruined by the inaction or the bad decisions of the developer. Hey, maybe it's just MS sending word down from the top and saying "**** Halo 4, work on Halo 5 for the new console", but we don't know that and someone's got to be blamed. If they really don't care about Halo 4 though, I can't understand why they haven't just caved, given us a pure classic gametype and put them damn fileshares up in whatever state they're in and moved on.
