Go ahead and sign me up for double sixteens In the unlikely event that my upcoming class will be so hard that I won't have the spare time for this I'll let y'all know ASAP, but I seriously doubt that. I really want to participate in this Edit: Wait, are all of the spots filled? I see 16/19 open in the first category and 4/16 in the second?
Blaze and Equin0x have taken the last two, sorry . If we do come up with another set, we will be sure to let you know.
Yeah, Equinox and Blaze were the last two out of the twenty, so we'll get to those today. But we've decided to keep this thing going since more and more people want to participate! Unfortunately it may take a few days for us to come up with another set of parameters, so we're going to extend the deadline by a few days. We'll keep you guys posted
Sadly, yes But we are considering extending it if we can come up with more constraints. If anyone have any ideas for some, feel free to PM one of us.
Sigh. Something came up and I'm going to be very busy I'm not certian I'm going to be able to pump out a good sketch by the deadline, you guys can go ahead and give someone else my numbers. Sorry.
We're planning on extending the deadline because we've used up more of the time getting you guys your numbers. Perhaps that would help?
This, OMG. Such a cool idea instantly pops into my head. My numbers are niiiice to. I'm going to have to try and shy away from and Avalanche remake since that's basically exactly what my numbers ask for.
Equin0x: Nineteen and Fourteen Spoiler Blaze: Sixteen and Sixteen Spoiler [br][/br]Edited by merge: Alright, so the deadline's been pushed back to February 6th. Also, that's officially all 20 spots filled up. Unfortunately due to things picking back up after the holidays, at the moment we're just going to do a first-come, first-serve kinda thing, and as soon as we come up with more we'll post 'em. No promises on how many we'll get to though. Here is the current waiting list, we'll go in this order: Elliot Mazdak Kazerra WhackyGordon Skisma Dizzyman Redy Hopefully we can get to you guys soon, but again, it's not guaranteed. But we'll try our best so keep checking in every now and then
@Dax Mine is asking for a 12x12 pit. I can manage a pit like that easily, but can it incorporate a natural feature of the canvas map? Like, can the pit incorporate or be the ravine on ravine? I would imaging the if I where to use impact, the pit would be space, which is a natural feature too. If we win, can we build the map and just get some pro touch-ups from some other forgers? After a sketching contest, this idea would be great for a general map making contest. Imagine the creativity boiling in everyone's minds for just sketching.
As long as it's 12x12 of empty space, you're good It doesn't matter what natural features are in/under it. Of course! We're just offering the service to do it if the creator is too busy to forge it himself, or would rather someone else do it, etc. But by all means, we won't stop you from forging your own creation Yep, that's the plan. Now that we know there would be a good amount of interest, we plan on doing something very similar to this in the future, but forge related. If there's anything else, just let me know!
Wow, i tried thinking of some new constraints to PM you guys. It turned out to be much more difficult than i thought. Just add more "the overall layout of your map must resemble_______" use numbers and letters and random everyday objects. In other news, I completed my submission already. PA1NTS: Fifteen and Fifteen Spoiler Designed and forged it. Had a lot of fun making a mixture of those two maps. Will post it inthe submissions soon. I don't expect to win, I only used Paint and Draw on graph paper.
Your sketch won't be judged based on the tool you use to draw it. We will be judging partially based on how understandable the sketches are, though.
Can we post a series of sketches? I've got the outline (Letter A), then another sketch of the map I intend to build on. Another of the map with the A placed on the map and the general teams symmetry and base locations. Next I will have to plot and aerial shot with more detail, then a side shot showing the levels of play and ultimately the final sketch in full detail with guns and all.
