We'll get more spots up in a jiffy. You know it, lol. Paint ftw. That being said, anything that can be read is OK. Even Paint. As long as it's obviously a map, it's cool.
7 and 2, or 7 and 10.. Or any spot that isn't taken yet, haha I really like the idea of this, i am interested what people will bring.
Dax will post pictures explaining what they are. You can technically forge and test the map, but the final product must be a sketch of some sort. Also, as per the contest rules, the final product can't have existed beforehand. The deadline is also aimed at the time it should take to do a sketch rather than a forged map, although if you can do both within the deadline, kudos to you. There might not be a point in us forging the map as the first place prize if it's already been forged, but we'll still gladly do it. Basically, the contest was designed with sketches in mind (hence the name), but you can technically forge it and sketch it if you really want to.
I am interested, I'm assuming you guys will be doing numbers 11-20 now? If so I'll just take 11 & 13. Also, I love this idea. It would be cool to do a forge competition like this. Instead of making a sketch, you have to actually forge it.
I have to disagree with this. There are lots of forging competitions this is the first sketch competition. I think it's good for this sketch competition to get attention for the sketching part because hopefully when it's over more people will draw their layouts before forging which will be good because it makes forging easier, cleaner, maps may flow better... It may lead to a lot of better maps from the community.
True, but I wasn't saying this competition isn't a bad idea. I was stating that after this competition it would be cool to see similar competitions like this in the future, but edging towards forging that actual map after following these directions. After the sketches are finished and the competition is over, it would also be neat to see the sketches go up for adoption (for the ones that don't care to give theirs away). These are just suggestions.
We are actually thinking, if this contest works turns out great, we will go up one tier and make it a forging contest with the same concept. This will also open up a whole bunch of constraints (must include Ravine's cave, the waterfall, must use no wall collies, ect.).
This is a big part about what I like about the idea. Great way to put it. Also, I will be Visitor Messaging everyone who wants to join when more spaces are added. Asking for numbers 11-15 is fine for now.
Just for clarification, this would be a separate contest later on down the road. We're going to stick with the Sketch contest this time around. Thanks for all the input guys
15 and 15 please. These contraints are wild. Really going to spice things up. Maybe don't make them as rediculous next time though.
If this does eventually become a forging contest, I am more than interested in participating. I'm not sure if I'll be able to make the deadline because of my time, but I'm sure it would be fun
I believe that your number choice has to be between 11-15 considering 1-10 has already been selected.
