Have they given a reason not to activate fileshares yet? Any official statement, whatever, bs (angel)?
Well, The reason is that they are not ready yet, and until they are, they won't be up. It's not at all like 343 wants to deliberately piss the community off (I know, Brace myself for the tidal wave of half sarcastic, half rage comments. I get it.)
We get they are deliberately doing it but as a side effect of not being ready when they said they are they indirectly piss a lot of the community off. As others have mentioned numerous times, the fileshare is how we show our support for halo. By sharing our proud Halo moments, our embarrassing moments. There is only so much enjoyment you can get out the matchmaking until it just becomes, run to that spot, shoot that guy, repeat.
Wouldn't of been BS angel shes honest, Played couple games with her on Reach. Imo would of got a lot more sympathy if they just said "Sorry guys we screwed up, Everyone gets a free emblem" or double exp code or something, Even without a bonus just been honest would of done them good. And bs angel is the "cute" face of 343i so it would help them get away with it. Funny thing is Bungie had microsoft breathing down there necks all time, Bungie still managed to make amazing games.. To busy fixing DLC glitch's in the TU (before DLC was released) and then fixing the Free DLC glitch probably delayed it some. Money>fileshare.
I can't wait for the file browser to be up and running so I can play the abundance of gametypes that people didn't bother making because there is hardly any noteworthy customization options in customs. :/
Cant be. I read in the latest bulletin that their focus now is supporting Halo 4 and keeping content fresh.
gahahahahahaha they aren't keeping content fresh, they are pumping out new content while the old ones rot away.
idk what you've been doing, but we've all been having a blast in customs almost every night. plenty of classics have returned, and some new fun stuff as well.

Out of the bulletin : "We’ll talk more about that when the time gets closer – and that goes for Double Team, Grifball, the addition of more small maps into Matchmaking and the other things we have planned for early 2013 as well" But for that, they plan to remove slayer pro, and bring it back next year. But also : "We expect both Search and web access to come online in early 2013, and we’ll provide another update in January. Again, we apologize for the delay, and we know this is painful for many of you. We’ll be brainstorming ways to celebrate both features’ release (contests, activities, etc.), so let us know via our forums if you have any ideas in that regard" Well, the fileshare was promised in december but it seems its delayed till 2013, January.
There ya have it folks. "Early 2013". Something that should have been ready when the game shipped will be ready anywhere from the first week of January to potentially some time in March. ...well whatever, 2 other people quoted it but KEEP READING IT UNTIL IT MAKES YOU FEEL THINGS

im actually kind of surprised how little the lack of the fileshare system has affected my enjoyment of the game. at first i was raging about it like you guys, but ive actually had quite an easy time of finding awesome and fun custom game sessions to take part in on a consistent basis. i know that i probably just sound like a fanboy to you all because i am continuosly positive about this game, despite its flaws, but damn... to me it seems like everyone on FH is hating on the game, and meanwhile we are rocking customs every night and loving it. ya'll need to join the right parties, get some new friends, w/e. =)
