But can you see the distinction? Halo 1,2,3,Reach all had awesome improvements and innovation and gameplay from the previous title. Even IF Bungie was forced to make a halo's into a cash cow for money they still made it new exciting and innovative for gamers that played the game. So either 343i is Lazy/Ignorant/Don't care/Selfish(In game design,"I want to make it like this because i want to and players will learn to enjoy it", That kinda attitude)/Money hungry/All of the above? Non of those options give me any desire to give mercy towards them when critiquing there game. (which has no redeeming quality's that I can see, and suspiciously no one else has been able to enlighten me)
Hey, it's already happening. That's cool. As far as I can tell, your argument basically amounts to you not liking the game compared to previous titles, and using that as some objective justification for hating on 343? You feel justified in being harsh on the game based on a premise of not liking the game? Seems kinda circular. Your loose justification of Halo 1, 2, 3 and Reach all being good and Halo 4 not being good isn't basis for criticism. That's just, like, your opinion, man.
^ The dude abides Anywho, can't wait for the gameplay vids of the next mappack, I think this one looks rather generic.
I mean previous halos could of been made for money so could of halo 4 but difference is other halos could of been made for a noble reasons as well (invention of forge, etc) And halo 4 has no noble reasons to be made. (no innovation, etc) I'm trying to say it from a purely objective unbiased perspective (hard to hold back personal bias on this issue) and if i had no opinions of my own and looked at trying to find noble reasons for the game to be made from gameplay game development game UI,etc. Only thing I can come up with is they wanted a COD Halo and failed, Which would of been a noble reason to make the game except the reason for making a COD halo seems to be "We need to make a halo, Cod makes money, Lets do it like they do" then it becomes Lazy/Ignorant/Don't care/Selfish(In game design,"I want to make it like this because i want to and players will learn to enjoy it", That kinda attitude)/Money hungry/All of the above? I don't like it, Some people like it, But I'm trying to find out if It is actually a Amazing 10/10 by AAA billion dollar game standards (despite anyone's individual opinions) and if so why. Because imo from a unbiased perspective the game just looks like a rushed had to be made for money 5/10 game.
In case anyone was wondering, there doesn't appear to be any reward akin to the Katana in Halo 3 for finishing all the achievements. Completed it last night and I can't see anything. Maybe if I entered waypoint, there could be something
"Reach had awesome improvements and innovation and gameplay from the previous title." That right there is an opinion in and of itself. Reach almost buried the series for me. I stopped playing altogether for the last year and a half. Halo 4, while not perfect to me, brought back a great deal of the feel I missed.
I'm in a similar boat TSB, however I occasionally got on Reach to forge and play customs. I'd avoid MM on most occasions though. There were too few good maps and AAs just didn't work that well at all. I don't believe this to be the case with Halo 4. All I wanted from 343 was a game that was better than Reach. Personally, even with some issues (instant respawn), I feel that they've exceeded my expectations and that Halo is leaps and bounds ahead of Reach in terms of overall enjoyment and functionality in MM.
Reach was bad, but at least it felt, in it's own way, polished. Halo 4 is closer in a sense to Halo 3 than Reach is, but in so many respects Halo 4 is just a bad game. It's so bad they even managed to **** up the UI. The worst part is, now that Halo is scratched off behind Call of Duty, that means there's no decent Multiplayer FPS series.
So team regicide is a lot of fun. And Abandon is the new Sword Base. It is clearly the worst map with a huge design flaw but constantly gets voted for because everyone is an idiot. Correct. Correct. But seriously, I'm loving Team Regicide. I like playing it on Haven (surprise surprise), cause I just score enough to grab the crown, then sit at open ramp farming the kills as people rush me. As long as I've got one person even vaguely helping me it works very well.
Team Regicide on Haven, I've found, encapsulates all of the negativity being said about Halo 4's overall gameplay. Run-and-Gun with no strategy or competent teamwork peppered with counter-intuitive spawns. I'm liking Team Regicide, however, on most of the other maps in circulation. Oddball, surprisingly for me, might be my favourite gametype next to Slayer which is something I would not have predicted pre-launch.
I hated Team Regicide. When I played with my friends, I was always king for the entirety of the game and it was just slayer with the added bonus of ****ing over whoever is MVP. Whenever I started doing well, the game gave the enemy incentive to hunt me down so that the gametype will reward them enough to catch up to my team's score just because I was the best player in the match and they were playing like poop.
question: can you be banned for downloading a modded gametype and/or playing a modded gametype in custom games? someone has modded a slayer variant with no sprint and i want to download it.
If it's anything like the last few games: no, but you can be banned for putting that file in your file share.
ah ok, so he might be banned for file-sharing it, but i will not for downloading it. cool, DOWNLOADED. if anyone else is wanting this, search the fileshare of gamertag "Lord Zedd" edit- confirmed, it works
I haven't played team regicide yet, and I suppose I ought to give it a try. But I did play one game of FFA regicide in a customs lobby. I had the most kills by several, the best k/d spread by quite a bit, and was the king for over half the match - and lost. Bad show, 343.
Team Regicide is indeed, badass. I got an really good impression on my first gameplay, and in every game i have played so far i have been the king. I never even knew there was an 90 second king bonus, my team did an amazing job defending me. And that is what i really like about it too. And i noticed 343 is really putting some work in these gametypes, even new medals like Kingjoust, makes me hope for alot of new and returning gametypes. I love Regicide on its own, but team regicide just destroyed that gametype, love it. Its probally my favorite gametype of halo 4 now, because i mainly dislike flood. On another topic, has anyone seen the new Spartan Ops episode? And played it? Its awesome.. And you know why? Palmer isnt there for the whole episode! She didnt bother me. Great, isnt it? But man completing these missions on legendary will be hard, even with infinite lives (Defend the generators achievement) If those die, you are done. I wont spoil anything, but mission 5 was actually very fun and awesome. And the ending was somenthing i didnt really expect.. (You get an achievement for completing all episodes up to 5 on any difficulty, 80G Oh and here is the episode for anyone who didnt see it. Spartan Ops Episode 5 - YouTube Edited by merge: Try it! TRY. IT No seriously, i think you will like it. And in Regicide, try staying king the whole time. It can be hard, but thats the most fun in my opinion
I saw a post about this on reddit. It's not just you. Hopefully they fix it soon with an upda-.... Crap.
