WWWilliam, about your spoiler... Friend found this (picture, not actually in ODST). Pretty neat IMO, and it shows that this has been in the works for a while. Either that, or bizarre coincidence. Knowing Bungie, option one sounds more plausible.
Bungie confirmed that image from ODST was referencing their upcoming game. Bungie's Destiny was teased way back in Halo 3: ODST | Joystiq
According to Bungie that's the case. It's likely that image was "found" a long time ago seeing as it's not hidden anywhere. It was only recently when Bungie announced their game that the image means anything
Only after the leak of information from the Activision trial, prior then that no one knew anything about Bungie's new series. And that leak wasn't that long ago and I highly doubt anyone put two and two together from the ODST game after that happened.
So you're saying no one thought the "Destiny Awaits" thing from ODST was related to Bungie's new IP until now?
I'm saying no one made that connection until now, yes. Technically they could have made that connection back when details of their new IP were first leaked back in May but since no one anywhere had brought it up it is likely no one did, or no one spoke up about it publicly.
I don't know when it was leaked that the game was called 'Destiny' but apparently it was at least a year ago. Bungie.net : Bungie Universe : Destiny awaits.. I am SO excited for a new scifi IP, and its from bungie, so it is pretty much guaranteed to be at least okay. I'm just sick of all the sequels coming out recently, its like people just ran out of ideas. That said, the hype for this project is pretty high it seems.
If they have a map editor and it's better than forge, **** Halo. Yeah I just said that. Bungie invented forge. 343 destroyed forge. Bungie is what got me into Halo. 343 is what's making me hate Halo. Bottomline, bungie is smarter. They make games to entertain their fanbase, not to sell out.
I want them to have a mapping tool, and do it better than 343i, just so that I can laugh in 343i's face and buy Destiny.
Correction, Bungie invented forge and improved upon it, 343 made Halo 4, and Certain Affinity improved forge a bit more but not quite up to your expectations.
/\This, if they make a mapping tool more like FC3's but with sci-fi stuff they that would be awesome. However, if it does turn out to be an MMOFPS then I doubt it will have a map editor.
