Thanks, Predicide, but what do you mean by that, what exactly "detracts from gameplay in some of my other work?"
This is so far my favorite of any of you maps Gravedigger. I was thinking of doing a similar thing with pallets. The only problem I have had with the map is some times the basement man cannons are moody, some time they work some times they don't. Over all the map is a + in my book.
Oh, I just felt that most of your "ideas" kind of got in the way of gameplay in your stargate map in particular. It didn't flow too well and I kept getting lost. The stargate itself was bad ass, but the rest was jumbled. You definately have a distinct style, though, and this one is much better. Just my opinion.
Thank you I noticed that, however you unfortunately can't get mancannons to work everytime. As your playing, you should note though, that if you walk straight down the hallway and look at the mancannon, then look forward, you'll get it everytime. Hmm, well I try to kind of mix up the style of the different maps I make so to keep it interesting. If you learn Abyss, I think you'd like it, but it is done differently then this map. It seems that Shockwave it is a little easier to figure out and enjoy, which is very important to some people. I personally enjoy Abyss the most, but whenever I play it with someone the first time, they get lost, like you said. There are some people that figured it out pretty quickly, it just different people will like a different map, have different opinions, etc.
I was making a joke...smarter people got it. It is a good map. I wish humor was not so very lost on duller people. Kudos to Gravedigger for taking it like a champ. You knew I was playin'. I'm thinking of using a pallet floor in my next project. Good inspiration.
This map looks very well forged and like it plays well, I have q'ued it and probably will return with further feedback.
Thanks, you may want to look at the words a little more next time before you post though, at first glance, it doesn't look like a joke. Also, if you do a pallet for too, or if anyone else does, a couple things that will make it work: -Make sure you place the pallets on the ground first, then build around them, this will ensure the hole in the ground is the exact same shape as the pallet floor your going to build in it -Make sure there's not slight holes at the start (before someone shoots it) -For supporting the pallets, use teleporters -Float reciever nodes on top of stacks of four dumpsters closely together (I don't remember the exact orientation of the dumpsters needed though) -Float sender or two way nodes on top of a pallet, on top of a door Once you place the pallets on top, that should get you a smooth floor. Hmm for my next map, does everyone think it would be better if I had a stationary pic for each area, or if it moved through the area a little like they do here?
Wow. You have outdone your self. This is so amazing! You totally made a brand new map, and there are no signs that your map was on Foundry. Your a great forger.
Thanks for coming back and posting in it, this got lost in the forums a while ago. There seems to be a lot of people posting competitive maps now. Wow, thanks.
I remember playing this awhile ago. It was great except for one tiny thing. I got like a killing frenzy by camping the hammer spawn with the hammer and BR, mainly because the people that died brought me equipment to use , hope you fixed that somehow. But overall it is awesome. I don't get why it even matters if you can see foundry's floor or not, but whatever 5/5.
looks like a really interesting layout, hope i can play it in a custom game sometime, and the floating tele's gave me a really good idea that i might use (if its alright w/u)
