Or you have failed to pick up on my point. People have forgotten how to enjoy what the main game experience is.
Or they can enjoy the main game experience and still have a negative opinion on a specific part of a side aspect of the game. Black and white hasn't been legit for decades, stop thinking in it. Is this another one of those things where you want people to caveat each of their criticisms with a "but MP at large is still really good!"? And for the sake of what exactly? And I've still yet to understand how this is actually a problem, even if you were right. Sorry, I've got zero time for thought police, especially on mundane issues like this. I'm not disagreeing that a small minority, and not even the people you're posting after, are gratuitously negative. But seriously, if you think one post from you is going to make even a dent in that attitude then good luck.
do you imply it wasn't? the sniper, the shotgun, the rocket launcher killed in one shot. the assault rifle was very far to kill in one burst. (though, that would be overpowered)
Those were power weapons, the AR was a starting weapon. I know it wasn't as powerful as the hand cannon, but nothing was. Imo the only underpowered weapon in CE was the Needler. AR was the most versatile and useful of any Halo imo, plus the noise it made was terrifying. EDIT: Also, a small point, but it (and the Plas Rifle) allowed you to do the quick Camo glitch, which saved my butt quite a few times.
As Pegasi said, the AR was the starting weapon and was the utility weapon of the game. Remember there was no BR, DMR, or any other such precision weapons in CE. The pistol was the all purpose distance weapon when a sniper rifle wasn't present. So I would hardly consider the AR "underpowered" in that game when it was the appropriate power for its purpose of being the "utility gun"
You're correct sir. I guess I just get temporarily very angry when I see how people can't just enjoy something. The time they sit on here bitching about every mundane detail could be spent playing the game we waited so long for. Temporary anger leads to quick pointless posts, I will try to refrain in the future.
damn... 1:37:00 hugedeuce - Deuce - #1 SR in the world hitting SR130 tonight! Giveaways to follow! not really a bad thing, but kind of a let down
Do what did when i read your post and a lot of posts,(it helps vent a little) Start righting a reply then been like, wait what am i trying to accomplish here... screw it... *Delete post* Fallacy of composition. Genetic fallacy.
when do you estimate H4 will have all of it's critical bugs fixed? not talking about weapon nerfs or playlist mods, bare bone fixes (esp with the server issues)
He meant "years", But your right i don't have any evidence there gonna make one every couple years. I hope for halo 5 to come out in 2020 or whenever they have a good idea for a new halo with innovative new ideas and gameplay mechanics. But for some reason I really don't think that will be happening and every new halo will be out in ~2 years with "New campaign/New weapons/New enemy's/1 small new feature" that are just re-skinned or slightly different with nothing new and innovating, Even if they did bring it out in 3 years i would question its quality because as you say they spent 3 years making halo 4(which isn't really a point in there defense it's got tons of HUGE game effecting glitches, Shallow gameplay and most importantly the Only halo that hasn't been a momentous leap forward from the previous halo(arguably taken steps back)
I think you can also use similar mechanics to spawn in items as well, which could be useful for building bridges to the next phase, or just spawning in the next phase entirely. As for the tiered loadouts, I don't think it ever really had that big of an impact on gameplay. quite honestly, I think having some form of tiered armory, (which I think is possible using the same feature to tier-spawn bridges/phases) could accomplish the task just as well, if not better, because it would give the creator better control over the weapons on the battlefield, instead of letting one team potentially hand out energy swords to the other team.
Yes, the gametype dominion and extraction are usefull and will be used for such things and new possibilities. (Problem with the crates though : They are destructable) But with this gametype you can also spawn entire bases. This was already discovered with Dominion but had some glitches, Extraction covers that all up you can see that in CertainAffinity,s video. It seems like the new gametypes are gametypes we already knew off. Next up is FFA Throwback (Sucks, it really does, i got that sneak peek) after that either Extraction or Grifball, I dont know what we can expect after that. They need to fix alot of things.. Simple things like bringing back the machinima elements : Halo 4 Machinima "Rant" - YouTube And in that video, also the restrictions are mentioned. I know that is an video wich partially makes fun off it, but he is serious. I enjoy the game VERY much, i just would like to see some changes and i have faith they will make some, i hope we all do. (We can punish them for not putting out an beta, but that time has passed) Also, guys we have hit the 1000th page. Yippy.
there are a few things that need to be fixed with the gametype settings as well. mostly with waypoints and weird bugs in the new gametypes. they have settings that override the gametype settings. if you set "no waypoint" to last stand players in dominion, they'll still have waypoints. same goes for last man standing, and flag carriers. dominion itself, its loaded with little bugs as soon as you change settings to something other than default. extraction, yeah, somebody pointed those issues out. I noticed that if you dont have it set to at least 2 points to win, it'll only spawn 1 extraction point, no matter how many you have it set for. theres weird stuff like that everywhere. these arent even settings they took away, the settings are there, theyre just lies. that kind of thing is a glitch if you ask me.
Well i read on the forums that 343 said there was going to be a surprise at 130, and just an emblem is realistically a let down after doing all that work and putting actual time into this game. ( A casual player would not reach 130, atleast not anytime soon) While its not really a big deal, im just putting my 2 cents in. I got to 70 today, so im working on my splatters and wheelmans until i can level up again
Ah, Bungie revealed some concept art of their new franchise : Destiny. It looks pretty promising to me. Im going to look out for anything news about it. I know this is not the place to discuss, but i dont know where else. Besides that, we are all interested in what Bungie is doing now right? I am. Oh and if anyone wants to see that video, ill throw in a link.
the current halo 4 population is at 18% of it's peak, by this projection, H4 servers will be deserted in about 3 months I really hope they make those patches soon.
