idk if this has been already complained, but why are they giving us an FFA playlist with oddball and koth, BUT NO PLAIN OLD FFA ?!
Personally I'd like it the most of there was a combination of the FC editor and Forge. Use the Far Cry one to shape the landscape, changes land textures, change time of day, weather, that kind of stuff and use Forge to build structures and place objects, objectives and all that kind of stuff. And then maybe have two versions of the editor, one for experienced users and the other for beginners. I know it's not 343 (and Bungie's) priority, but I wish it got a lot more attention. It can add a lot to a game, especially in the long run. If Halo 5 had a Farcry+Forge editor and a Trials Evolution style filesharing system (At least the Top Tracks section) that would be amazing. Bungie already set it up, now 343 has to take it a step further.
I wish they'd just consolidate KoTH, Oddball and Flag into an Objective playlist. Before launch I kept hearing how playlists would be fewer and it seems they are doing the opposite.
While I like the idea of having a landscape editor to go along with Halo's forge, I think your second idea of having two different experienced/beginner versions of forge just isn't feasible. There wouldn't be enough separate options to have in the "experienced forge" to set it apart from "beginner forge." After all, the only main thing we are missing at this point is the precision editing which IMO can still be easily done by using the left/right bumpers for minor height changes and by using the top-down view for minor horizontal changes. To be honest I never used it in Reach and I think I managed alright. In all honesty my thoughts about Halo 4's forge have changed quite a bit since before I got the game. I was mainly worried about the ugly color pallette and the lack of usable terrain, but I've found quite a few peices that really work well together. I think it's only a matter of time until we see some really great looking maps. Plus the duplicate function has proven waaaay more effective than I initially imagined it would.
It is useful for keeping pitch, yaw, roll values which may have been manually adjusted. However, the fact that the dupe'd object gets moved so drastically in translation values is annoying and you don't end up saving THAT much time unless, like I said, you have some crazy rotational values.
Yeah, I guess that's why I've found it so useful. I've been using a lot of ramp 2x2s for flooring which do have those odd rotational values.
Now that you mention it, I too think a trials evolution filesharing system would be great. Bungie actually had a similar concept to the "top tracks" section with the "most downloaded" section people could view from bungie.net and from within Halo.
343 has this system too, its just not up and running yet. Although in-game recommendations do operate just fine right now.
Well you realize if it was truly like Trials top tracks it would be ones picked by 343 which would mean an entire section of maps made by godlyperfection
Would you rather fancy a section of maps made by GodlyPerfection or a section of maps full of anime girls? I suppose there has to be a working system somewhere..
I feel like running around in the middle of the field blasting and nading away for medals and points to win isnt how halo's meant to be played :l wtf happened to regular slayer
Ragnorok shouldn't be in KOTH. Just had a game where, after the initial hill, the damn hill stayed on their side of the map (with the exeption of one neutrally located hill) for the remainder of the game. How the hell are we supposed to have a chance if the other team is even mediocre? Obviously this isn't going to happen every time, but it's just an awful KOTH map and is completely out of place in the playlist. But people still vote for it all the time because hurr durr mantis is cool /rant
Finished Wetwork now on to operator, so what happens when i finish operator? do i unlock the option for the other 6 or do i have to stay at 70?
I really like Infinity Slayer for the personal ordinance drops. It is exciting and fun hearing "Ordinance Ready!" and calling in a Shotgun. However, I would prefer it if each map had a specific, static set of weapons/power-ups that you can call in. These would be balanced accordingly to each map and the "big" power weapons that spawn directly on it. This would keep the excitement factor of OD's, but keep the system competitive instead of random and unpredictable. Also, get rid of the rotating on-map power weapons- rockets/sniper/stickydet should spawn in the same place every time. Call it "Infinity Pro" and lump it into Infinity Slayer with a 20% occurrence rate to track it's popularity. Make changes/updates accordingly. I saw an 80 yesterday...
Well im pretty sure people who got legendary edition were given 6 specializations to choose from after hitting 50, im just wondering if theres any way i can do more specializations that wetwork and operator
Well, the great thing is that in Trials there's so many different categories. I usually just check out the best trial tracks from the past 48 hours and I always get a bunchy of a good tracks which I can play straight away.
