    your remake of this map in Reach was my all-time favorite Lockout remake.
    i have confidence that this one will be just as good!

    Yeah I noticed this and made it so the Pro version of the map has landmines instead of fusion cores behind the sniper. They're one-shot and chain. I might make it so default has the same but it doesn't look very Lockout-y.

    Also fusion cores take more than one shot to destroy. I don't know why 343 messed up on stuff as simple as this. :(

    stack the cores on the mines or vis versa and just let us know. I wouldn't mind it, it would still look like lockout and they will blow up in one shot. I have noticed this problem on all of the lockout maps I have played. Also I don't see anything truly wrong with the scale of the map, and in all honesty I think it is the closest I have seen yet. And I seriously see no problem with you using prefab buildings especially on a remake. It is definitely not a lack of creativity because the fact that we are remaking a bunch of old maps is that lack of creativity. Not saying your not creative cause then we all wouldn't be. I am just pointing out the contradiction that presents given the current topic. In maps you make yourself I really don't think it's taking from your creativity. I have maps with rooms I have built and prefabs. I still think they look nice. But I suppose I'm not a master, I just forge a lot.

    ps. sniper spawn is most accurate I have seen in a remake. Thanks for this map. It feels alot like the original did.

    Ok, I think I'll update the default version to have landmines rather than fusioncores. At least by the sniper perch. I'll get started when I get home. Anyone know if I'm allowed to edit the submission after submitting it?

    This is a Halo 2 map remake not reach I noticed a lot of people weren't even around before reach to know.
    You shouldn't have it scaled so small, just because the prefabs are small. Lockout was fun for a lot of reasons and one being because it took effort to run up from top mid to sniper 3, in these maps it's way too easy to make those jumps. Even without sprint, I'm not close to needing to crouch jump. Someone needs to make a correct scale lockout. No narrow halls and doorways where you can hide behind the walls, lockout wasn't like that.
    The original creators aren't around anymore to make the pieces for you so they need to be done manually.

    I don't understand what is with the window in sniper 1. You're trying to make an accurate remake I thought?

    I was talking about the people that said the map was from reach... that's a pretty clear sign. Did I say your name? I just re-read my post and didn't see your name or anything about combat evolved, etc.

    My main points about the map is what I mostly posted about.
    -jumps are way too easy to pull off
    -too many walls to hide behind/parts in prefabbed building shouldn't be there
    -scale

    really not much wrong with it, I don't complain about the mines or lack of top mid window, gameplay is basically the same without things like that. But when halls are too narrow, etc. because of the scale, it makes the map feel a lot different.

    I was just saying that being around since the beginning does not make you better at remakes, and Honestly, I didn't see the post about them basing the design from a Reach remake

    Again, who said being around since the beginning made you better at remakes? I'm pretty sure lockout wasn't even around that long. Let's keep this thread spam free. It's pointless to quote the post above you it's just taking up space.

    Big kudos for adding all the jumps. This is by far the best remake I've seen in H4.

    Tower story 3 it's glitched: Shots fired by your weapon get blocked on the right of the tower for no reason.

    No-one said Lockout is from Reach...?

    Maybe this is what's confusing you: I made a Lockout remake in Dec. 2010 (in Reach... Tempest to be precise) and that's what they're referring to when they say they remember it from Reach.

    Also. You asked about the window in Sniper. The map you should check out is the one I submitted: "Lockout Default v3", which does NOT have a window in the sniper tower. I made that version because the submissions should be somewhat accurate, so I added in the fusion cores, default weapons and changed that window. The sniper window is only present in my more "competitive?" version of the map, as it helps with the whole stalemate situation in higher levels of competition.

    Also thanks for the feedback. There are of course a few issues with the map that I certainly think could be improved, especially at sniper tower. And I'd even be more than happy for people to use this map as a template and change anything they find annoying or inaccurate. I don't know if I have the time or patience to correct most issues but I will get to what I can. Vincent Torre helped me a lot the other day with some ideas to try out.

    He is replying to you because your post(while justified in your map feedback) came off as offensive or hostile. I will not say any more on the subject because the rest (from what I've read) has been cleared

    OT: I do like the map, possibly my favorite remake so far and much better then the first one that I saw. I like your piece usage and the fact that you put in all the jumps. The thing hat caught my eye most,however was the shape of the roof on the area where the lift puts you off at. The detail there made me happy(even though I probably shouldn't even care about those little things) nice job.

    Grow up. You can't be offended if it's not your map.
    I think the map is pretty good and don't mean to offend. Not sure how I was being hostile.

    It is a shame about the fusion cores and other things 343 did to the game. You can't even pull the sniper down to br like you could even do in reach. And placing too many of them will kill you from far away when shot :\
    I played the map in a ffa last night, had some fun. So now I can say, pretty much the only thing I really missed was the rock wall in sniper area, where we used to bank nades off of.

    Yeah, grav lift tower's probably my favourite part of the map. Wish there was an easy way to do sniper tower's roof and make it accurate. Also, I will be forging some changes to the map soon I think. I'm definitely going to replace the fusion cores behind sniper with some landmines.

    Also, for peeps who like Lockout, I made another map that's similar in "feel" called Airlock if you want to check it out. It's in my fileshare.

    I think you made a great choice of map for this one. I hated blackout for how dark and gritty it felt. This, even if not blue, is a nice remake and I think daylight lends itself well to Lockout.

    Thanks. Though I'd probably disagree, Lockout was quite an "underground" kind of map. It didn't feel very sunny.

    However, I quite liked the views of the beach on Ravine (I love feel-good games like Mario Sunshine and classic Nintendo/Sega games) and so I thought it would be a nice place to set it. Aesthetics aren't what makes a map accurate after all, it's all about the geometry of the map.

    I have to disagree. aesthetics are important too. of course if you want to change them, it's your choice.
