lol RST, could have just linked to the bulletin instead of the forum thread containing just a link to the bulletin. But whatever, I still love you (in a platonic yet homosexual way)
If you're looking for cinematic quality then I think episode 3 is for you. Something feels different about it and good different. Even though it's 75% reused multiplayer maps with AI on them something felt truly epic about it. Perhaps it was because you spend the episode pursuing a Shanghelli terrorist that made it enticing. It really seems to be the first episode with a clear cut goal and I liked it.
Ign have 1000 armour codes to give away. It's a first come, first served kinda thing so I suggest that anyone that's interested signs up quickly. Assuming you guys even see this in time
I haven't checked but did some people already address the precision forging issue to 343i on their forums? It has to be mentioned because I want it back for sure!
343i forums are like old bungie forums, Every little thing would of been addressed/complained about in tons of forums every day. 343i would know about it, they would know about a lot of things.. Hoping there just not able to fix all the things and it's not like "We know, It's not profitable so meh"
Well this is a major problem so they better fix it. Or I might say goodbye to Forge sooner than expected. (That is, after a couple of maps already) If enough people make threads about it they should be able to see it and have their attention drawn towards it. Another problem that needs to be countered is the lack of a custom powerup. I've had numerous ideas (I'm not even kidding) that had to be canceled because of the lack of a customizable power up. It has so much potential, especially if you combine it with the new player trait zones. They really have to bring it back, this is just foolish.
Well.. Far Cry 3,s map editor made me just depressed compared to the halo forge. Event though i will not give up, just look at this.. Far Cry 3 Map Editor - First Look - Platform32 - YouTube Placeable enemies and allies, animals, water, terrain tool, buildings of all sorts (Even ww2 style), blood waterfall, sharks on land etc, all sorts of plants, tree,s and rocks etc.) Is there any chance that halo 4 forge will get an MAJOR improvement from now on? Can we hope for it? Even a DLC?
Those maps would also be much larger in file size, requiring everyone who wants to play to spend 5 minutes downloading each map. That's one of the great things about Forge- all the information is just coordinates in a text file. They are incredibly small files, which lets you play them without the need to download the map to your hard drive.
Certain Affinity, who handled Forge (as well as other aspects) of Halo 4 for 343i, has acknowledged that it was an oversight on their part, and they are investigating ways to possibly bring it back in an update. Nothing is promised, as usual.
It would take me too long to find the article. It was an interview some site/magazine held with Certain Affinity. They weren't treating it like it was as huge of a deal as we'd like them to, probably... the number of people that would put that tool to use are a TINY minority of the community, after all. But they did say that they are going to look into giving it an update and bringing that back, as well as possibly other fixes. It wasn't an in-depth conversation, but it was addressed. EDIT: forgot I used the link already on this site, so it was easy to find again: [source]
Man, if FC3 has good custom game options (like ability to prevent people to use their own classes) you could get a really good halo-like experience out of that. Weapons on map was my biggest gripe with FC2.
Yep.. What Overdoziz said. But does anyone has an XBL trail for me? Or where i can get one for free? Because mine runned out and its just weekend I would much appreciate that, VERY much.
I'm buying FC3 mainly for the campaign, but I don't mind supporting companies that actually put some effort into their map creator either.
The argument with FC remains the same regardless if the file sizes are slightly smaller. Having to download the map takes time and effort. The beauty of halo's forge is the streamlining of the process and the easy learning curve. Could it get a little closer to FC's system, sure and I would be all for that.
Both companies just had different priorities. FC3 and Halo 4 will probably both have beautiful and fun campaigns, but one game has an uninspired, cash-in multiplayer, and the other has a shitty map editor.
