I honestly wouldn't mind it, but people only seem to choose it or Ragnarok when I play BTB. So I'm probably going to take a break from that playlist for that reason.
I'll never understand the hate for Blackout. It's a 90% accurate remake of one of a handful of the best Halo maps ever - that 10% is really worth throwing a fit over?
^this. Also, aside from the cluster**** of ARs in the middle, I actually like the map. The only H4 map that I sincerely hate is Abandon.
Woah woah woah, what's with the hate on Backwash? I thought that map had one of the best atmospheres in H2, and I don't recall any game being too stagnant. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Backwash literally destroyed TVs... Sort of. There was an ever present fog on screen and the image would burn into the TV.
I enjoy Exile, it's one of the better maps in BTB. Longbow is what grinds my chains, as it is a really good map with one massive fatal flaw in that top middle is super duper top heavy, making the team who gets rooted up there the winner. Before people realized this a few days in it was my favorite map, I'd love to see it re-imagined to not have that dumb area.
Anyone having troubles with the teleporters? On a map of mine, they function normally, but they are not visible for some reason.
Something "doing what it's supposed to" isn't a merit in itself. AL did what it was supposed to, slow the game down and act as a crutch in 4v4 and counter the hell out of vehicles in larger games. That didn't make it balanced or good. I actually agree that Pulse Nades are an inherently defensive grenade and thus not something I like at all for how they potentially affect the game. Though they fact is that they are seriously goddamn weak, so I'd argue that they actually don't do what they're designed to do that well, and the game is better for it. They're largely a non-issue in my experience. Not useless, but not powerful enough to perform their role that effectively.
Exile is still one of my favorites. The only time i hate it is if my team is too stupid / stubborn to rush for control of the power vehicles in the beginning of the game. To add to that, the main appeal of the map, it seems, is the fight for control of Tank and Gauss. I feel that this fight is epic and awesome. Sometimes, it fails horribly. When it does fail is usually when your team doesnt do it right. Gauss is fast and can kill the tank in 2 shots. PP + Stickynade spam can also kill the tank or gauss very quickly. Theres also plenty of places around the ring where the Gauss can get caught up and flipped if the driver is careless. Overrall I find it to be an extremely fun map.
I like Exile a lot for Dominion. Longbow I hate though because everyone just throws themselves up top mid and whoever gets hold of it first tends to just kill wave after of wave of stupid people rushing up because they have a height advantage.
Oh God. Yes you are. Whilst it's not a great map in the grand scheme of things, I think Complex is actually the second best of Halo 4's 4v4 offerings. I hated it for the first couple of games but once I found my feet it became much more enjoyable. Still has pretty big issues, though.
This. Basically, the first team to get to the mid wins.. Because they kill the enemy time after time, because of the rushing, but they have the height advantage and easily pick of players. Then they get their first ordnance drop, and its no fun anymore. With those ordnace weapons they obliterate the enemy team, and because of that, they get even more ordnance -_- The match will end in like 1000 - 440 I,ve seen this enough now.
