I have finally finished my remake of "The Pit" From Halo 3! I'm extremely proud of this, Probably took me around 30 hours give or take. I never really counted. I would like to thank Fame28 for helping me with some odds and ends and helping me think of a more manly name haha. I hope with me only having few posts maybe I can get people to open their eyes to see that you don't have to have 5,000 posts to be a part of the community. I'm happy to be here with ForgeHub and to share this with all of you I hope you all enjoy and have fun! Feel free to add me. GT: Eshkii Fileshare: Play with Map "The Void" and game variants "V Slayer", V Flag", and "V Hill". Questions? I have answers! Feedback: Please, I would love to hear what you all think of the map! -More Below- Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler
I ran around this map. I must say, it's near perfection. I haven't ran any games on it and I would love to. Everything is so smooth and looks neat. No frame rate issues from what I've seen. It's just so nice.
This looks great. Judging on the comparison pictures it looks super close to the original. I'll have to download it and give it a whirl. I'm hoping it plays as good as it looks because The Pit was one of my favorites from Halo 3
While i can't say I am pleased to see this map around again, I can say awesome job. Looks awesome. The two true tests for this map are, can you shoot yourself with a cone and can you get a nade into the sword room from the walk way around it.
LOVED the Pit and I was super psyched when I saw the first screenshot. Then I saw the second and was like aww that was the actual pit. And now I'm going to download this because I know I'll love it anyway <3 thank you!!!
Well there's no cones in the MLG version of the pit but feel free to edit them in there haha And yes, You can nade into sword room. And your welcome Rethal
Since there is a large amount of screenshots, I suggest putting them into multiple spoilers. That way you can name each spoiler and people can click which ever they want to see.
Does the mlg version not have a sword in the room? Because if not, there should be an energy sword, but I'm guessing the mlg version doesn't have one. Either way, this map looks great. +1 dl!
Yeah the Halo 3 version of The Pit when played on MLG settings didn't have an energy sword haha, Also the spoilers show the sword room if your interested in seeing.
Why does nobody ever use "no parse"? Way easier: Spoiler Image link Just check out the BBcodes in the menu on the left of your screen if you want to know how to do something BBcodes related. (Click on the arrow and it will pop up.)
While all these Pit remakes are very accurate, none of them have the open side looking out over some nice scenery like the old one. It would add a lot of the feel from the old pit. Obv this would only really work on Ravine but I still think even in space you could put large windows looking out over a space scene to make it more aesthetically pleasing. Just my thoughts
Yeah I thought about that as well, Just the amount of budget I have doesn't allow it until I go through the entire map trying to figure out how I can save money for that. More work, But I could possibly do that. I might try it, .. Might. ha
This is an excellent remake. The true question is how good are the spawn points and objectives? CTF on the Pit was always a fun game. We may have to add this to the Customs League official playlist!
Every spawn point was transferred from Halo 3 to Halo 4 down to the very last one. Every MLG Weapon spawn, Spawn times on the weapons, Even down to clip sizes is correct as well. Hill marker are the same size and move in the same order as MLG The Pit. But the only down side is the instant spawn. But it still feels and plays amazing Even capture the flag is great. And thanks for the feedback!
I have a question. In the sword room, what did you use to make those tv screens? Are they just half windows? Reason for asking is I am doing quake remakes and there are a ton of comp screens and that would totally help make them look more like the real deal. And this is the best remake of the pit I have seen so far. Props man.
I'm not sure whether it's exactly what he's used, but there are dominion computer screens. As for the map itself; it looks good, although I think Training is scaled up weird and that the glass might cause an issue if players can see through it to the other side of the map.. It's a shame SaLoT made it as well..
