(LIGHT SPOILER) I just finished solo heroic. Sweat off my face. Superb. Didn't like how the ending was first person cutscene, and didn't end on an epic line. Also, i'd actually preferred if some of Martys music, like No More Dead Heroes was in the final cutscene. Fits much better. So sad though, brilliant ending, wish it ended on cortana, and that was it.
Spoiler As soon as i seen the new guy with his powers I was like :O!!!! instantly thought EPIC!! this is gonna be one good boss fight throwing crates at me and stuff or something !! Little did i know they gone the way of mw2 boss fight. Besides halo lore, the actual gameplay was meh, Easy, Same ol' go here kill these guys,Except in a more linear approach, Nothing really new. Well new enemies that where easier to kill and had orange bullets (Chieftains/Elites>Knights,Wall climbing flood/Drones>dogs), Not what I would call a new amazing mind blowing innovation. Mammoth level was cool from a spectacle POV, But again from gameplay perspective could of just had a couple of warthogs spawn around the map and been the same. (shooting those orbs where just a "Click RT to continue") I liked fighting inside the new air vehicle but could of made it little more interesting. (Fighting to get on scarab actually involved gameplay, not just "kill enemy's then kill enemy's on a ship")
Spoiler I have to agree about the mw2 ending, but due to the great conclusion of the narrative, I can overlook that. I thought the death star scene was also very fun and actually somewhat challenging. Though I have to disagree that the Promethean are easy. Nothing is good against them. Nothing. And their 'sheilds' recharge kind of quick. Plus Watchers. I must say, I am excited to see where this story goes. I never really got in to Halo 1-3, but this tale has emotion in it. Its a huge improvement.
Spoiler I'm not saying it was a bad campaign i enjoyed it (even though the cortana and john relationship felt a bit to forced/played-to a bit to much for me), Because of the story and halo lore, because I'm a halo fan, But purely from a gameplay perspective it was lackluster nothing new. Space mission in reach was harder, I could just boost though everything only shooting the blocked paths there bullets move so slow there no risk, just accidentally hit a wall or two, No challenge. Well i played legendary with skull on and there shields seemed to recharge slower then elites(and they seemed to have less of a shield and did do a lot less damage then elites), So it was complete opposite for me, EVERY weapon was good against them. It's hard for me to kill an elite without PP/Needler/Plasma grenade/power weapon. But i can kill knights with any weapon i have. (initially i was scared to fight them but once i quickly learned how there teleporting and movement worked its np) Suppressors (the Auto) that you literally get billions of ammo whenever Prometheans are around: Spray them with full clip, Take cover reload, Spray them again=dead knight. Easy. Now try and get close to an elite and do that(on legendary with skulls on) or 1.5 clips of a light rifle=dead (slow moving big target)knight. Watchers? Engineers.. Neither of them are much of a issue imo.
I discovered on another campaign run today that promethean knights aren't as hard to take down as I thought. A few pointers: - Plasma pistols. Srsly. For some reason I never tried it on my first run-through because the knights don't appear to have traditional shields, but an EMP from the plasma pistol messes them up and makes it possible to take them down with a few DMR/BR/light rifle shots. - Scattershot and boltshot will mess them up too, at close range, though that's a dangerous game. I only attempt that if they're distracted by... - ...auto-sentry. Not to be undervalued because it both distracts them and picks away at them. In rougher patches where I couldn't find good weapons or ammo, I would just fire up one auto-sentry after another and hide as my little buddy did most of the work. - If they teleport, just back-pedal. Otherwise there might be something unpleasant happening to you shortly.
I question her authority so much; how could someone so stupid (whom talks in nothing but cliches/nicknames) be a commanding officer?
Ive been getting some really shitty ordinance drops alot lately. Even if Im getting good sprees.. Crap like the SAW, overshields, scattershot, shotty, needler, nothing special
20 more minutes till i can gain xp again haha, the cap is obnoxiously too low imo, it stopped me about 20k xp from the wetwork visor , if the cap is going to be around 150k (from what ive heard) why would they have levels be around 50k? well atleast 55-56 was 46k so im going by that
Miller: Commander I have really important and extremely irrelevant information to relay to you. Palmer: Yeah and......? Miller: And what you ****ing ***** it's important god damn information just stop being so unnecessarily rude and uptight for completely no reason [at least I wish that's what he's say ]
What are you expecting to get from a ordinance drop? A choice of Rockets, Sniper or Damage boost? That's far too overpowered. I also don't get what constitutes a weapon/powerup being labeled as "crap". As far as I'm concerned, all of the drops that you mentioned can be very destructive if you know how to use them effectively.
The needler is reliable and effective, the SAW is obnoxiously good, and OS is nice if you already have a nice gun and want to keep it longer. I think grenades are the most insulting option. I see that a lot. Still, the DMR and BR can pretty much carry this game, IMO, so ordnance is just gravy for me. The Boltshot is pretty sweet too. Sometimes it's hard to drop it for the ordnance options. Honeypot is always an option I suppose. OS might look lame to you, but sitting there free for the taking - that's a different story.
I just loved the Broadsword mission, and when you get into that giant area with the composer, this awesome music kicks in (Skip to 6:10 for halo 3 Halo 4 OST - "117" 12 - YouTube (Might be one of the best halo tracks, at least the best of halo 4) At the ending epilogue, it looks like the didact is narrating humanity, chief and then himself and the forerunners. First i found that confusing, but i can understand that now. Overall it was an amazing campaign, and a challenge to beat on legendary. I hope they continue with the story in SpOps, it looks promising.
