I was talking about people bitching over the Mic. I've ignored the complaints in this thread. It's good game design, plain and simple. Sometimes you have to use psychology to make a game people want to come back to. Kudos for that.
It sounds to me like they have rotating playlists, and due to an unexpected positive response in the SWAT playlist (that normally would have been rotated out for Team Snipers) they will keep SWAT one more week for us. That means we will have 2 extra playlists this week: SWAT and Snipers. After this week, both will likely be removed for a new one in the rotating game mode set. This makes each game in the rotation more exciting, because we don't always have it. I heard nothing there about double exp.
I was just saying that there will be a finite amount of time to certain playlists in Halo 4's rotation (so pretty much everything you just said) and compared it to how Halo 3 offered temporary playlists every weekend, which were just known as Double EXP Weekends.
Double XP weekends were always fun on H3. They never really had a bad playlist on it, unless you count Grifball as one (I do), it still was just one weekend. I'd like to see it come back.
Finally played complex on split screen. Its practically unplayable. Still stomped the other team though.
Unplayable due to framerate lag? If so, that's a travesty. They should basically just disable splitscreen in Halo if they're going to continue to slide down the rabbit hole of not supporting it at all, even kinda. It's been a long time since the days of 4-player split in CE. Man, we had some great games back then, with everybody accusing everybody else of screen-watching (and of course, everybody actually WAS screen-watching, constantly...)
Speak for yourself. I refuse to screen look. As for Halo semi-supporting split screen, I would just like them to allow it only on maps that work well. For example, I have played 3 player split screen on some maps (Haven, Abandon, Adrift) and noticed no lag. Just make it a 8 player maximum or something and I'd be happy. restrict larger split screens in larger, more taxing playlists.
Vortex split-screen is awful. I can't play very much with my bro as some of the maps have a habit of making the game into Halo: Flipbook Edition. Also, screen-peeking (So many ways to say it...I prefer screen-peek. Rolls off the tongue.) is a slippery slope...but the appropriate counter is slapping the guy who just suddenly decided that turning around and pulling out is shotgun was a good way to save his own neck. He should be right there after all. It adds an extra dynamic.
Honestly I've never really been able to avoid it. I'm staring at the same damn screen, I can't help picking up key geometry points in my peripheral vision even without actually glancing at it.
I used to, but I've gotten to the point in the last couple years where I just don't. I don't even think about it.
well any xbox game automatically has a 4 player splitscreen maximum, you can only connect 4 controllers to one xbox
I mean 8 player games could be the maximum player count that allows splitscreen, since smaller maps have less lag in that setting most times. So that would mean you couldn't play splitscreen in BTB or Dominion etc., but you can in SWAT, Team slayer, etc.
Good idea, but it might make some first-time Haloers at other peoples' places get annoyed because of the lack of options.. as long as that can be made clear to the audience somehow (framerate issues) without making 343 seem lame, it will work just fine.
I was playing flood, they picked complex. Two dudes used that secret spot and won round one. So round two, I followed them there, and while they were trying to get in there, I betrayed them both. Douchebags.
This happened to me too... I also can't seem to get a game of flood on a map other than complex or haven.. Who else thinks that human AAs wreck the feeling of running? Camo in corner =/= exciting. Or, for that matter, Promethean vision. Hardlight shield is practically useless given that most turds in the Flood playlist can't aim for garbage. Betrayals ftw.
@Nut. Yeah the FRL is horrendous. We didn't do much btb and I wouldn't vote for vortex anyway. So thats easy enough. We always just called it screen looking. Can't say I miss those days. @Nut. We called it "screen cheating" but its near impossible not to do, Halo trains you to notice as much as possible in your peripheral vison then playing split screen your like meant to unlearn how to play halo. But I never screen cheat, They where on my radar obviously that's how i new exactly where he was and was going to be.
