    Who's ready for some mech on mech action?!? thats right, 4v4 all mantis'. just got done putting this together and i need some help play testing. i'll be playing all this week and will be glad to help others test their maps so add me if your looking for a solid custom gamer.

    Looks very very nice aesthetically! But I HATE the robots. They don't belong in Halo, and they're ridiculously over powered on Ragnarok. Most games I play on that map now end up as hide and seek from which ever Mantis survives in the game.

    I actually think its time for Halo to leave vehicles behind any way to be honest, even though I really like the Banshee and Scorpion.

    That has almost nothing to do with the map.

    Anyway, I love the idea. I had a similar one myself and it turned out a blast to play with friends. One thing I would recommend is to add more cover. The Mantis is strong enough to obliterate another Mantis very quickly, so you need to really break up the lines of sight to compensate for the slow movement, otherwise the person who gets in the Mantis first will have a massive advantage.

    You could always go the way of Mechassault and create loads of buildings to manoeuvre around.

    you really think that halo shouldn't have vehicles?... that's ridiculous.

    QFT. Vehicles are an essential part of the Halo experience; a Halo without warthogs and ghosts (minimum) in multiplayer would be a travesty.

    Travesty. Thats a perfect word for it. vehicles were a huge element that set halo apart from other shooters.

    Back to the map, I agree it needs more cover. This could potentially be a lot of fun but I can see spawn killing being an issue.

    True. But the map looks very nice aesthetically. But i think the pictures is decieving, because the map is very big right? Thats an good thing. Maybe a little more cover would do the trick, but this looks very nice. The threnches and the middle building, and the spawn area on both sides..

    Yes the pictures may be deceiving as the map is very big. I did leave some money aside for extra cover as I felt that would be the biggest issue if needed. I'm gonna try to do some play testing tonight if anyone would like to help it'd be greatly appreciated. I've got some ideas for game types other that slayer that I'd like to get fleshed out. Hopefully 343 didn't remove too much to make it happen. Thanks for the feedback.

    Are you a COD fan or something?

    This is HALO, vehicles are essential.

    Also, this map is beautiful, but I can see actual gameplay being frustrating without any cover : /

    The trenches (that may be hard to see) provide deadly cover, forcing opponents to take higher ground which offers less cover. I may add more cover once I see how full games play out. It's a big map and I want the game play to be long to medium range battles. Adding too much cover might bring everybody too close. I know it looks like there's not much cover but Mantis battles are a lot different than spartan battles. But who knows, I may need to change everything.

    The map has a nice UNSC space theme to it, good job.

    I started building a Mantis arena, it was scrapped and I'm trying another design out. I'd love to help you test it seeing as it would benefit us both.

    Is your GT the same as your forum name? (mine is) I found it on your profile page

    ran a few test here with OP. then we ran into the yaw glitch. but aside from that, the map has extreme potential.

    so far, we discovered there needs to be a kill zone in case of slip space.
    we may need to run it against a 8v8 game to test the spawning time of the mantis against the players spawn time. that or require a minimum of 5 second respawn(perhaps a 1 sec increase per death) time to help prevent the player from running naked in the mantis hanger.

    perhaps disabled ordinance drops, dont want anyone running around with sticky launchers, or plasma pistols.

    just a thought, but the opening in the ceiling of the hangers can probably be used to launch a mantis out via grav lift and a gravity zone, just a thought lol.

    Would it be possible and/or beneficial to use the Dominion vehicle pads for the Mantis respawns?
