Hello all, I am creating some maps in Rivine, any idea how to create the day/night cycle as people did with Halo reach?

    Thanks!

In Halo Reach, people used the purple fx to simulate night time although in reality it was just... purple. Unfortunately, that fx didn't make its return in Halo 4, so a night time atmosphere isn't really possible with that gadget. Your best bet would be to manipulate dynamic lighting on large objects to cast a shadow over the whole map. I'm not sure if that would work either, though.

    :(

if you want a night setting, you would have to forge on a dark map like impact, or erosion

Thats a good idea about the whole shadow :) I never thought of that.

Ya but I am making a hunger games map which is day at first then I want it to go dark then back to light.

Also another thing that didn't return is falling objects like mines. So lets say if you have a mine on the ground and you have a mine in the air. it won't fall and blow up and then respawn and keep doing that.

Or has anyone figured out a way around this?

    Thanks!

I have tried some ideas and I keep trying different ideas everyday but no luck.

I will for sure post some tutorials if I figure out how to do it and other ideas :)

You can still get falling objects. You go about it in the same way as Halo 3.

Step 1) Place a structure piece high up in the air. Set this to fixed or phased.

Step 2) Place your scenery object or explosive on top of the structure piece. Set this to normal.

Step 3) Delete the structure piece. The explosive will fall down and explode. It will respawn where you first placed it.
In order to make the explosive fall initially you must have it interact with either the player, bullets, or another object. Once the object has fallen though it will continue to fall. You don't need to interact with it in custom games to begin it falling. (I think)
