I had the chance to run through this map earlier and it felt/played much like Warlock from Halo 2. The only complaints I have are that the lift/barrier system needs a bit of work and the aesthetics of the map are kinda lacking, but that's 343i's fault and not yours. Overall, nice forge!
Thanks for the feedback. What problem are you having with the lifts? From what I've observed they work correctly 100% of the time. If it's just the fact that a one-way shield is used, there's really nothing that can be done about that. Grav lifts are messed up in Halo 4, and will catch you in an infinite cycle if you fall into one, the one-way shield is the only way to prevent that. Delete the shield and try it, you'll see what I mean. Yeah, unfortunately smooth textures for making cool aesthetics (like the Brace, Large in Reach) are pretty much non-existant in Halo 4. I'm sure people will discover ways to make cool aesthetic pieces (Like the rock garden) in time, but since the game just came out, it hasn't happened yet.
I would scale the map a little bigger, considering sprint (though it won't help immensely). I'm actually digging the idea of 4-base maps now, considering we have 4 lights at our disposal. The aesthetics in halo 4 leave a lot to be desired.
Map updated to V1.4. New version is in my fileshare New version has improved spawning, small object-flashing fixes, and the Damage Boost on the middle has been replaced with a Speed Boost. Damage boost was a bit overpowered in testing. Also, OP updated with better pictures.
Did you forge it in the Kinda big grey box in erosion ? If yes , well for me , it looks bad . Because of the color contrast , brown (dust feeling) and a clean grey floor doesn't match for , but the whole thing looks to be well forged and fun to play !!! If you have time to waste , you could rebuild it without the grey floor .
Map is now officially released (V2.0)! Map has gone through many changes, OP has been updated, and map is now being submitted to Forgotten Treasures. Will move this to the correct forum once 343 gets their file browser working.
