I've played a small amount of Halo. I like the campaign, it seems interesting. The multiplayer feels kind of like Call of Duty... I'm not a fan of Call of Duty. I'm hesitant about it.
Played three games of multiplayer after quitting halfway through the mission Requiem on Heroic. Two flood matches, placed 1st in both, one big team slayer, placed first on my team but we lost by 300 points (is that 30 kills? I haven't bothered keeping score). All on an old tube tv... I like this game.
In my opinion there are four things that make Halo Halo as far as multiplayer goes. 1 Energy Shields and unique non-conventional weaponry 2 The game altering flow of weaponry 3 Everybody hits the ground on the same level 4 Vehicles are not overpowered 1 The shields are still fine and the weapon assortment works just as well as it has 2 Ordnance ruins this, you don't give bigger weapons to the most successful players, you give bigger weapons to the more strategic team 3 Custom loadouts almost ruin this. I'm fine with choose your grenades and choose among limited starting weapons, the armor abilities are a stretch, and perks are a unbalanced shitstorm 4 Once again Ordnance ruins this, a piece of the vehicle balance was having one or two long rang power weapons on the map, not a goddamn shower of them Ordnance is a fine concept that is poorly executed. Ordnance should get you medium weapons and powerups (I got damage bonus yesterday, that was neat), not rockets, snipers, and lasers. Shotguns, sticky bomb shooters, SAWs, etc, should be the core of ordnance. Halo 4 is leveraged towards the players that have the most time to spare (against STEM college students and people with tough work schedules)
^this I maybe get to play an hour of Halo ever other week, it sucks that the only way I will ever get to fully experience every aspect of H4 is buy spending ridiculous amounts of time on it. In the end, the preteens and 8-year-olds will have the advantage, because they will have the most time to play H4, and so get all the perks/armor/loadouts.
