no spots where you can even touch the water at all or even close or you instantly die. i had an idea of what i was going to make but now that you cant make anything near the water im not sure. what type of maps are you guys making? ive forged hardcore since the day halo 3 came out and im kind of put off of forging after looking at the aesthetics people can make while i cant make them. does it come with practice or natural because i just cant
Yeah I was really hoping to use the erosion map and make a sewer flood map with the water would be nice for them to show the perma killzones too!
So tired of the hydrophobia. In Halo 1, there was that one stage where the chief could walk under this greenish pool of liquid without problem. Since then, it's been kryptonite. ;.;
I like the looks of the forge spaces and I like the pallets,but it does suck that there is no usable water. It's not a huge deal for me though,just a minor setback.
The water is useable for death pits and being pretty, as far as I'm concerned we can forge close enough for that (I havent looked at ravine though). It's a shame we cant put a block beneath and walk in ankle deep water, though nothing I'm too upset over.
To be honest there needs to be a forge world again with new locations etc. I mean come on infinity has all these "practice" maps for war games that are of all type. I don't see much total freedom like reach had for forging on this so far.
The things I dislike about that are the lack of diverse terrain and objects that Halo 4 provides. As people grew accustomed to Reach, maps were being built in the same locations and made of relatively the same objects. Although it won't remedy the problem fully, I think that will allow for much more variety in terms of aesthetics. In terms aside from the aforementioned, I don't see the problem to be honest as you could just think of the three maps as seperate sections of a much larger Forgeworld. The only thing that it prevents is overly large maps that span the length of all three combined really. I do partially agree though. One good thing about Forgeworld was that map size wasn't necessarily restricted and the same form of terrain spanned a greater distance instead of being all packed into a small area. That was a pretty big blow on Big Team Battle. EDIT: Guys, your forgetting something big. We can forge under the waterfall now. The waterfall.
Haha, the waterfall is a 90˚ creek. I don't know, Ravine seems so obvious that they wanted us to make a blood gulch-y map there. There is so much premade that I don't know how I would feel about forging on that grass... Been messing around on Impact, some nice pieces and terrain there. My remake of Endeavor is coming along smoothly (aside from those bases, which I was never too good with.)
Well, overall i really like the forge maps, but i hope there is more to come. And yes, that waterfall is really like 2 inches.. Im currently working on a dominion map, featuring the pre-made building (Impact) Dominion looks like an solid gametype, and its fun to forge with. And i am re-making a classic halo map for the contest, pretty serious on that.
I think there are two of them both leading into a tiny stretch of water. Nah, it's not as loud as the waterfall in Reach and, on account of its meager size, I don't imagine it would have any severe effects on framerate. I'll look into it though.
You can use the water as part of the map, but you cannot walk down to it and in it. The closest I came was about 1 meter or so above water level. But it can "appear" in your map as part of the visual aspects to give a sewer feeling...
