In Halo Reach, you used to be able to press down the Left Stick, and it would move the piecese slower. It doesn't work however in Halo 4
yea but... the guilty spark does not sprint something else ive noticed is there is often detail on an object, and it looks like you can jump on the ledge of it, but its actually an invisible barrier. this i noticed on the SILO 3 piece on impact, and also on some of the rocks in valhalla. wtf.
We will all miss this, they probally thought it was no use anymore because they added magnets. WELL GUESS WHAT 343? Oh and titmar, what do you mean by Guilty Spark? Its just an monitor
i like calling it the guilty spark and yea, no... magnets are pretty useful, but also kinda awkward. gonna take some getting used to thats for sure.
Yeah these magnets have been both extremely useful and ****ing annoying. Its to line up objects at awkward angles to other objects seamlesly now.
something i noticed about the magnets that i really like is this: previously in reach, if we lined up two blocks next to each other, but not just barely interlocked, there would be a tiny tiny tiny gap in between each object that grenades could fall thru. this problem is no longer there, the magnet lines them up exactly perfect
And that is why I think 343i got rid of precision movement. I saw somewhere that you can change the strength of the magnets, from small to large. Not a huge deal. But yes, may precision movement rest in peace.
I would assume magnet strength entails the radius in which they attract. As for the precise editing, meh. It doesn't bother me much that it's gone, I rarely ever used it.
It is so when You are regularly editing, you dont automatically snap to theclosest magnet. I would agree, somewhat useless, but whatever.
Precision editing is gone? Noooo... And what about the dark/purple special effect. No more night map and so much infection maps that will never be as good as they used to be...
Good lord, how did you ever get anything done without it? After using coordinates to get objects in the more-or-less correct spot, I nudged each and every one to get seamless transitions. On top of that, the nudge allowed you to get rid of z-fighting while maintaining smooth walls/floors/aesthetics; this is more of an issue when moving an objective on its Y-axis than X or Z however. Without nudge, objects moved up/down too much with bumper taps. I'm going to miss it dearly.
You probably did more often than you might think. It was a great way to counter Z-fighting amongst two crossing objects, as Unfrozenlynx mentioned already in the post above. I just hope they'll bring it back in their first patch, because it's extremely useful to have and extremely useless to be removed. If 343i wants to gain some more believeability and show their motivation to make something of Forge, they better put it back in. Same for zooming in in Editor mode.
bumper-tap version of nudging still works fine. its just not as good. the fact that there arent tiny gaps everywhere really helps
I did this. Also black magic, but that's no big deal. I don't know, I just never felt a need to zoom in often. I did, when manipulating a piece, move closer to it physically and I'm sad that's gone, but it's the only thing I can say I miss.
