minor dissapointment with my copy of this that came with the LE of Halo 4. The 'Extended" cut isn't that extended. And so far can only be accessed online. Not even a download to my Xbox hard drive.
well, it was originally supposed to be 4 15-minute videos, but it ended up being 5 17 or 18 minute long videos. The extended version is ninety minutes, so now that they changed the normal version, there isn't much to extend.
Oh, i never really heared the original announcement, i didnt know. But im hugely impressed with FUD (Hunter scene? Badass) And im looking forward to see what laskys role in halo 4 is. Is there any info what happened to Orenski and Sullivan? I do know what happened to Fred and Kelly. And i never heared of that "Bio foam" and i dont think i would,ve saved Chyler either unfortunatly.
It's mentioned numerous times in the books. It is essentially fast acting foam that stops bleeding and stiffens up to allow for movement on broken bones. As far as would it have saved her? Possibly, it would have slowed the internal bleeding, potentially to the point where if she had gotten to the pelican in time she could have been saved.
Oh, i never read the books. And according to much halo lore fans, if you didnt, you are missing alot. So its time that i will buy the books, and start reading those. Its pretty sad to think that this might have saved her, because if she told tom early enough the bio-foam would be given to her, and sullivan would be carried by the chief. But i dont think it would save her, the needle pierced right trough her, leaving a major wound. Was a sad dead though.
Remember though that Romeo got nearly sliced in half by a gravity hammer and the biofoam helped him for several hours afterwards. He was even able to fight.
I was under the impression when I first watch it that she didn't realize that she was hit till after they used the foam which was just bad luck, But when they splattered the jackal she got shot and looks like she instantly felt it. Then there like talking about biofoam trying to find it and w/e and shes like "Naaa better not say anything better off saving his knee instead of my my life" Don't need to read books to know bio foam is cure all miracle potion, (idk how emded anymore) Biofoam saved grav hammer to the chest in Halo3:ODST https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLq0GSF9Mcs Biofoam saved from pierced spiker though his chest on landfall 5:40 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aDEeLr9gUmM
Exactly.. But they wanted to point out that spartans are very young. And i had the impression too that Chyler felt the shot immediatly. If the would,ve said it, the bio-foam was going to her, and Sullivan would be carried around in my believe.
Just because she might have felt the hit immediately doesn't mean she would instantly know the severity of the injury, especially in the middle of a conflict. Sullivan appears to be in tremendous pain, he speaks up, he gets the bio-foam. Chyler who might not have known she was in immediate, lethal danger, albeit being shot in the stomach region, doesn't. Besides, she kinda had to die for Lasky to truly overcome his issues (remember, he still is highly allergic to the chemicals given to him to survive Cyro-sleep) so that he can become the future commander he becomes.
True, true.. I have to agree completly actually. But these are my speculations, on how else it might have turned out too
When they ran over the jackel they immediately cut to her face in pain holding her stomach(that's when got shot), then MC told them to get/look for the bio foam. Plenty of time for her to look at her injury's and understand Stomach>knee. She is a marine she would speak out in a situation like that. Shes not just a random shy school girl. I'm fine with it the outcome so lasky can become hero but her suiciding herself in that scene to do it is just off putting.
Again, knowing where you are hit does not equate to knowing how severe the injury is. You're acting as if this whole thing played out over several minutes, it was seconds. And again, she had to die for the plot to move forward. Without her death Lasky might not have been motivated enough to become a commander (could have just dropped off the grid due to post traumatic stress). Also, just because Sullivan was hit near the knee (not the knee) doesn't mean his injury wasn't significant. There are several arteries near there that if the bleeding isn't stopped could have been death in minutes. I'm not saying those arteries were severed but you can't just assume stomach > knee
She got shot 2:40 to 3:10 that's 30 seconds judging from video and could of been more irl depending camera cuts to make it look shorter and during intense life or death moments seconds are 10times as long, Point being plenty of time for her to assess the situation. I'm no biology expert but I'm pretty sure I'll would rather be shot in knee then my stomach, And since either injury has an unknown variable of damage, Shot in stomach would imo have more potential to be life threatening then the knee injury that wasn't confirmed to be life endangering, and hasn't killed him so far. Even if she didn't steal the bio foam the scene would of changed drastically if she mentioned it earlier before the bio foam was used. I don't mind it happening just the way it was portrayed in vid was unbelievable for me.
With all your life or death moment experience you know that right? I'm not denying she would have the ability to figure out she was shot (as I've said), knowing you are shot and knowing you are going to die in the next few minutes are two separate things, especially when shock sets in and you can't even feel the injury. Someone screaming in pain and someone not screaming in pain in a battle situation is a pretty obvious distinction over who gets what treatment. Around the knee and around the stomach. Since we don't know exact locations of the wounds and we both aren't doctors how about we just agree the severity of the injury can't be accessed from what little we are shown. What I can tell you is there are plenty of medical cases where people have been injured near the stomach and lived and plenty of medical cases where people have been injured in the leg and died. Unless you know more about this than me, I doubt you can say which is more severe other than the basic statement of "stomach is more important than knee". Then she might have lived and then what? Fair enough, though that kind of scene has been in sooooo many war movies/tv shows/games/books that I don't find its outcome surprising or unbelievable in the least.
