On the subject of metacritic being important and reviews ruining it: Besides it not REALLY being important, all games get hated on by some reviewers, so all games should have a slightly higher metacritic score. It all works out in the end. Halo 4 may be 3 points lower, but Skyrim may be 7 points lower, etc etc.
It would've been a dumb move of 343i to make everything sound like you're in space all the time. Why? - there would be no way to create interior, because it would sound just like outside - it would piss people off after a while having to hear muffled sounds all the time - some people won't actually use Impact to build something in space [br][/br]Edited by merge: This. At first I thought that Snapshot meant "No scope headshot", but apparently you get it everytime you kill someone with a no scope. lol
No Ascent, Relay and Settler? Meh, they sucked anyway (relay was passable) Here, all the ravine forge pieces, if you still want to see that. He doesnt go over them piece by piece, he just flyed around for a bit. Halo 4 - Ravine's Forge Pallet - YouTube
I've asked Berb already, but I want a more definite answer; are there any large(ish) open areas on Impact that you're able to drive a warthog around effectively on?
I didn't watch any of the live streams- so now the flag carrier has a waypoint for enemies on at all times? Isn't that a disincentive to use longer, more covered routes instead of running through the middle? Was the MLG flag carrier speed equal to the MLG player base speed in those H4 games, or a lower/non MLG base speed? I was wondering how much faster flag-juggling actually was than what flag-walking will be now, because if the flag speed is set to "base player speed" instead of "100% default speed", then flag walking will be faster than ever plus a magnum, which would contrast with the "dart across the map with flag running" premise. As for killing them throughout the map, that seems applicable to previous halos, except the the flagnum would make it easier for the current pullers (which would contrast with your premise. If I had to think of a way to make the currently pulling team have to kill enemies for longer, I would have longer maps or flag routes than in previous halos or shorter spawn times, but I don't know if those were true in those matches. I'm not an MLG guy, but I would surprised if a player holding a sniper would consider getting the non-droppable flagnum- wouldn't you count on nearby teammates to make a flag run possible regardless of weapons? If so, why wouldn't the sniper let the teammate pick it up? The penultimate sentence seems applicable to previous halo maps, but again, maybe these maps are just better for CTF in design- I'm not sure how the new version of the CTF gametype would improve that aspect, or whether or not that's what you meant when you said "I'll eat my words". I like the flagnum and the base speed for the carrier changes for all CTF playlists (normal team objective, BTB, MLG) as far as I can think, but I dislike the no-drop and the waypoint above the flag carrier's head that you mentioned (and was there auto-pickup? I forget, but if so, it would be a dislike).
I found a good amount of what los said in this video Halo 4 .map mods - ShARk RTH4 App - YouTube 5 minutes for the hog tank
Framerate must not be to bad of an issue. In that video of Relay that Flameblade posted, it looks like there isn't any framerate. In Reach that map would be unplayable. There is hope!
I'm almost done with my Halo map remake, and no framerate at all so far. Also, being almost done with my remake should speak volumes to some of you. I am a fairly slow forger, plus I've never done a full on remake before... and I'm almost done. In less than 24 hours.
It's really things like the lock feature, the duplicate feature and occasionally magnets. I use the duplicate feature so often it's not even funny. I'm going to be lame and not say what I'm making yet, but I'm honestly shocked at how good it looks for never having used this Forge system before, and having such a short time with it. I haven't even gone back to the original map at all, only looked at quick google pictures. There will be things you guys will be unhappy with in Forge, but I can honestly see so much good coming from the community in the future.
That's certainly reassuring to hear. Hopefully forge and customs culture will pick back up again with Halo 4 in general.
It is my belief that they will heavily. By the way, I've reached Rank 10 from merely forging. lol I'm giving the game back now though, so I return to the rest of you, eagerly waiting to get my hands on it.
So there aren't any Forerunner objects? I thought that Ravine might include a few in it's palette, but by the looks of H4 Follower's video, it doesn't. Damn. That's a few of my Forge plans gone.
