I think that more can be said about the SAW's role as a power weapon than simply saying that the rocket launcher doesn't take much skill. First of all, rockets are a just a bit more versatile at non-close range, but still in a situational way, based on elevation and the surfaces near players, which means that it rewards a steeper skill (positioning) gap than the SAW. Just the fact that it is different in terms of aiming, tactics and capabilities from other weapons warrants its power more so than a power-AR. If the power weapon itself is completely redundant, the only thing it adds to the game is an objective simpler than an oddball, flag, bomb, hill, or territory, but the same thing that any other power weapon adds. H4 already had enough redundant promethean weapons and redundant ARs before they added a power-AR. If the Saw or incineration cannon are fine power weapons in someone's view, I can't imagine what wouldn't be. As I said before, however, considering how quickly everything kills, I don't think it's going to be more than an occasional nuisance.
I'm more worried about the SAW against vehicles. If the physics makes it the equivalent of two AR's against a warthog that could be a big issue.
Rarely a player will get a lucky 2 for 1 without trying, but as long as rockets aren't placed with more than a couple of shots in a really close quarters-small doors map, the user would have to deliberately wait and survive until the right moment to use those rockets for a multikill, probably in the right spot (which again, shouldn't be close to its spawn)- which is skillful and risky.
Since elites aren't in multiplayer, the probably wouldn't have thought twice about making them stronger than before. Also, bullets haven't historically done well against shields, and elites tend to have more shields than a spartan. Try it out on a friend.
Holy ****! I think 90% of us here at FH are now suddenly super stoked for H4! Sure I've been excited or it, but this is whole new level of excitement!
I'm not down on the game and I don't absolutely hate anything thing in it like some people here do, but I'm not terribly excited for the game. Idk what's wrong with me. The game looks fun and all, and im getting it on tuesday, but I'm like "meh, I could wait longer"
watching all of these mlg streams has gotten me ten times more excited than i already was. this weekend is going to take forever to pass, lol. Berb, give us some info about forge or something! custom settings? etc?
Ok, I'll be your man on the inside. You can edit fall damage in the custom settings as well as everything with ordinance drops.
Are there any big changes to custom game settings like can we force specializations and stuff to get a relatively vanilla gametype?
1v1 fights and actual DMR vs BR strafing battles was always gonna be best of any game out there imo, its a Halo game after all. It's the meta game outside of individual fights/duels(loadouts/etc) and game systems(drop in out/etc) that my main problem. Way i see it in medium-close range rockets have benefits of Instant death, Instant multi kill potential(half clip used/1 bullet) But saw has benefits of no splash damage, idk maximum kills per clip but I would assume at least 2 since its meant to be a LMG that would be half clip a kill which would be equal to the rockets killing power. Except the LMG has prolonged kill times so enemy's have more chance to fight back do something. I would still say Rockets>Saw but Saw is still looking pretty fun to use to spray and pray. (May be easy to use tactic but can't deny there is enjoyment bursting into a room like rambo) Except sprint lol
I've leveled up 2 and a half times. The fine nudge (click stick + very fine piece movements) is not in. It is a very sad day for forge
