Guys, Shuman is just a pessimist. If he wants to be that way and hate on everything before he tries it himself then let him. Nothing wrong with it to be honest, I myself an pessimistic 90% of the time with just about everything game related or not and you know what the best thing about it is? You always expect the worst therefor are never disappointed. If you think something will suck and then it does you were ready for it, however when something turns out not to suck you get a pleasant surprise.

I say it was great but had flaws. I've seen a lot of things to hate in the halo 4 videos, though... like the ball passing in grifball... what a shame. Can't wait for the midnight release party I'm doing in the gamestop parking lot. It's even ****ing catered... with alcohol as well. Does anyone know what kind of budget you're given for forge?
Hipsters. And not for much longer, CBS bought them and Jeff and the gang are now a part of the same network as GameSpot! But no Shuman, low score reviews can be completely legit. For instance, Halo 4 could be an 8/10 for me. The problem I have with these sites is that the reviews are technically the site's official review, but are written on a personal level. I understand that it is the reviewers personal experience and they will be writing from there. However, I feel like they should be writing on a higher level for a broader audience. You don't like AAs? Is it because they aren't Halo or because they're bad? It's stuff like that. For instance: Reach is a bad Halo game, but it's closer to a mediocre game on its own. Is Halo 4 a bad game or a bad Halo game? That's the distinction I'm looking for because I believe these reviews should be based largely on the game itself as there are many people who don't care at all about its relations to the others in the series.
As said before, some review from a guy that doesn't know what a DMR is is NOT going to affect my decision to buy the game. Also these reviews aren't even that bad...8/10 is not a bad score... But it also appears that the lowest review scores have been chosen because it got very good reviews everywhere else, so this arguement of" 8/10 is bad halo 4 isn't good" is total bull. There was no ligitimacy to the review in question and all it's done is escalate some stupid arguement. Just my opinions.
Their reviews are more grounded in the reviewers personal experience, but if anything that makes them more legitimate. I'd prefer if more reviewers blinkered themselves from gamer expectations and review expectations from other sites. Funny you mention CBS acquiring Giant Bomb, because part of the acquisition deal meant the dissolution of the contracts that prevented Gerstman from speaking about his firing from Gamespot publicly. That, combined with things like Giant Bomb declining to review Bastion because they were heavily invested in it's development, doesn't exactly paint a demonising portrait of the site.
I have no qualms with you sharing your opinion. had any of what you have been posting lately been your opinion. What you have been doing is finding any evidence that supports your ideas and presenting them with little analysis on your part.
Welp, I just pre-ordered the game. I got a deal for $48, which is good because I also had to drop $40 on a generic hard drive.
