it seems more powerful to me. I'm not sure about exact kill times, but from what I've seen it seems to beat the precision rifles at close range
I think it looks just right. Reach was so slow. I felt like I was slaughtered in seconds when I went back to H3. I honestly have no complaints after watching the stream. It looks so fun.
they stated in one of the bulletins that the AR is going to be buffed, but it certainly doesn't make sense to make it on par with precision weapons because it's easy to use. I feel like the AR will remain this "limbo weapon" for bad/lazy players who doubt their opponents' proficiency with a DMR. EDIT: @Tit Cluck's got you covered on the previous page.
that link didnt work for me, but i did find this for anyone else who missed it: http://halo4nation.com/multiplayer/war-games-livestream-gameplay/
i agree with what the one dude said in the stream, that the AR should beat the precision rifles at close range. and that part of the skill involved in using the precision rifles is putting yourself in position where you won't have to engage in close range battles very much. which, considering the increased map sizes, shouldnt really be that hard if you know what youre doing.
should is rather subjective. Are you judging by pure firepower (artificial 100% aim) or in skill to use (including magnetism, bloom, etc)?
im fine with most weapons killing faster... but i was a bit shocked at the needler. is it just me or did one full needler clip kill someone who had just grabbed overshield
yeah it killed crazy fast. and i love it i wouldnt quite say that. the ordinance drops dont just randomly pick 3 power weapons for you to choose from
If you played fat kid in H3, a few clips of the needler would take out someone with 4x overshield and max health. It's always been quite powerful.
i mean if every bullet hits (which of course would only happen at close range), the AR should kill faster in my opinion. that is its function.
yes they do, and the guy who got an ordinance drop with a needler would normally have been screwed against a guy who randomly got rockets, even thought they both did the same exact thing to attain them, and therefore deserve the same reward.
i dont think so... where did you see/read that? ive never seen someone get rockets/railgun/incinerator/splaser/binary rifle (the "more powerful" power weapons). and im pretty sure i read that they tailor the possible options based on the gametype and map. EDIT: yeah, i just found this source
You are confusing not being able to choose what choices you get and completely random. They are not random, you get certain choices depending on map. Also needled should not equal rocket launcher.
