What the **** is IVs? what are EVs? dafaqs a Corphish? wtf is Pokerus? macho brace? Imma stick to Pokemon when it was normal.
I only bother with EVs, not any of the others. EV trained Pokemon are the only way to win in the hardest tournaments of the PWT, which sucks because it can takes hours to properly EV train.
I'm pretty sure there were Ev's when pokemon was normal too. How else could my starmie have better attack then a blastoise? EV training is a royal pain in the ass. It's not as bad in Black 2 because I think you get access to the Power Anklet (SpE) and Power Lens (SpA), so it's pretty easy to train special attackers. For physical attackers, I think your only hope is using a macho brace and fighting the breeder in lostlorn forest. I spent an hour EV training a metagross and I used it against 2 pokemon afterwards.
ã€åˆä½œã€‘戦闘ï¼ãƒãƒ¼ãƒ†ã‚£ã‚¹ - YouTube I'm sure there is a meaningful message in there somewhere.
All right, this is too confusing for me. @Isao base attack.. O_O really? Also, what's an SpE? I know Spe was speed, but there's something new now? (((((( I want a game that has very simple and easy-to-use mechanics but deep gameplay.. why u no do this pokemon?
the games are simple and easy to play.. they just have some mechanics that are used in competetive play; iv's and ev's. Chances are that you shouldnt even bother with them if all you want is to play casually. and FGH... I have no clue what i just watched, but i feel like buying a ds and black 2 now...
well ayom with eyes can tell that the new pokmon look retarded. however the other stuff like battle animations and 3d overworld look like huge improvements from gen 4, i mean, i can always just use of pokemon that arent gen 5.
I thought the message was that Xatu is a pretty cool pokemon. There's nothing new. The stats are: Speed (Spe) Health Points (HP) Special Attack (SpA) Special Defense (SpD) Attack (Atk) Defense (Def) And have been this way since Gen 2 (Gold and Silver). Before that, in Gen 1, there was a Special stat, but that was split up into Special Attack and Special Defense in Gold and Silver due to balance concerns. There hasn't been a change to the base stats since. Also, if anybody is wondering, every main series pokemon game since the original Red and Green have had some variant of the EV/IV system. Gamefreak implements these mechanics not for the sake of making the game more complex and your day worse, but to ensure that all pokemon are unique in their own way. Two Pikachus of the same level are going to have different stats due to their IV and EV spread, for example. I think this is an admirable design goal, as it adds a tremendous amount of replayability and depth. EVs and IVs have their place in Pokemon, even outside of a competitive battling standpoint. Trying to manipulate them can be tricky, but it certainly isn't a requirement to enjoy the games.
I actually hate all of the graphical changes in gen5. For example, the moving pokemon and zooming in thing was bothersome and make them look really pixelated when they didnt have to be.
... they ARE pixelated. and always have been. I like it personally, reminds me of pokemon XD for gamecube. I'll be getting this sometime soon, i suppose my real opinion will be formed then, but for now my impression is that its cool.
- I did not EV train for Attack, but just playing through the game, my starmie grew to have more attack than my blastoise. It was during my recent run on Pokemon yellow (some time last year). - I still meant speed. I just wanted to make the E stand out a little bit. - The complexity of pokemon is what makes so insanely competitive. Easy to play, hard to master.. Edited by merge: Yeah, I really hate the zooming while it's in the pre-move phase. I guess it's useful for keeping the screen "active." I like the general idea of pokemon moving though. For some reason, Heracross's animation is just hysterical to me. just look at him: The Sound effects, on the other hand, annoy the hell out of me (Close Combat is stilll badass though).
if I get one of the two, is there anything I would miss out on, not pokemon because they are tradeable, but areas or other content? Also, which version would you suggest and why. Right now im partial to white 2 since it has solosis and it looks like a cool pokemon.
If you care about EV training, I HIGHLY suggest black 2, though in white, you miss out on Electivire and Solosis. In black you can get the power Anklet (by doing the first in-game trade; -halves speed but gains 4 speed EV's after each KO-) and power Lens (Mid-Late Game; like the other but for SpA). - Also, fun fact: pokemon with the EXP share also obtain the EV's that the main pokemon just earned. Very awesome
so you cannot get those two items in White 2? or is it like the black city and white forest where you can get to both but it requires a bit of work. also, what would be better to play the game on, a DSi or a 3ds, would i miss out on much by playing on DSi? I read that Dream radar is for 3ds, so i assume the DSi misses out on that, or am i wrong? from what i can tell, the dream world stuff seems more important than dream radar... the main thing being my desire for a sharpedo with speed boost.
Ugh, tyhe movements are too damn stiff. I would rather ave them static and imagine the moves. I like to play with no animations in my pokemon.
I like a lot of the Gen V Pokemon, mechanics, sounds, etc... Anyway, you can get both of those items in White 2, but you need to buy them with Battle Points earned in the Battle Subway and PWT.
So other than some pokemon that I couldnt care less about, there isnt any huge differences in the content? Nothing that you just flat out cannot get or do on one game
As far as I know, no. But you are given a shiny Gible in Black 2 at some point, and a shiny Dratini in White 2, if that matters at all.
