oh, well, still... idk? In all reality, the no spoilers is just for people who don't want to ruin the game for whatever reason, if you post explicitly stating it is a spoiler, it might be ok?
okay. this is a link to a google search where the first result is a webpage that is the second page of a thread that has a link to the video in the OP. this is a spoiler. It indirectly has a Halo 4 video in it. So don't click it if you don't want something very indirectly spoiled somewhat. Also, I can assure you that the other results contain no spoilers. alright, here goes Spoiler https://www.google.com/search?q=hal...9c1762bf41c86b&bpcl=35466521&biw=1920&bih=971
Yes, if you make square or rectangular maps with no funny angles, and everything is in even multiples of 1-2 units, your advice is sound. But - not to get egotistical or anything - have you SEEN my maps? I made multiple maps where half the surfaces are curved. I made maps where everything is oddly-shaped and 2.5 units wide because it felt right. I don't like restrictions; I like making what I see in my head. So I have a hard time taking it seriously when someone basically tells me to treat forge like the overblown Lego set 343 intends it to be. And when you add in the rotation glitch (which has yet to be confirmed or denied in Halo 4), z-fighting is a problem that I am definitely concerned about. Moreover, avoiding z-fighting is hardly the only thing nudge is needed for - but I guess it's simpler to argue against its existence if you pretend otherwise.
Whomever decided to edit out the "warning: spoilers/no leaks" is a goofball. Its against our site policy, so the rules on that haven't changed. If you wish to show a spoiler, use the spoiler. If you wish to leak, go somewhere else.
Not bad for a quick attempt, but its basically just being built with the same pieces as in reach. In other news, I love the rusty texture of the building pieces on that map.
Well that video just makes me realize that Erosion is actually pretty big, way bigger then i thought. And i like the atmosphere, did anyone notice that little step up in the tower 3-story? Nice little addition, dont have to use the grav lift for that now. What do you guys thing about the space? (who have seen the lockout video)
This made my day, a quote from this page: "you can make Lockout and The Pit with relative ease and plenty of room." I remember people struggled in Reach to make The Pit, now we can do it with relative ease? Some of previous map ideas can now come true!
I always use the coordinate system to get rid of Z-fighting. Just put two surfaces on the same coordinates but release one of the two objects a fraction earlier so it's on top.
He didn't exactly deny its removal, but said that he(Overkill) did not know how to properly use the UI or some ****.
Spoiler That remake of lockout looked pretty good, just needed less z -fighting and some tweaks, and you got yourself a map, kinda.
I sure hope so, it was useful but not a huge deal if it is gone for me. I think I would just...adapt.
That video of lockout actually restored my faith in the new forge pieces, and the locations. It looks like a real map, and the pieces merge together great actually. Now I'm excited to forge again. Also, the lights actually look good in low lighting areas.
Even though it was sloppy, everything looked very cohesive piece wise. Erosion is looking like my favorite.
@Gorilla agreed. I see too many Montaska maps and "lolzspacebuildin" maps on Impact.. @mazdak Well that wasn't convoluted to find at all.. took me a good minute. O_O
