I love the series but I thought the sound effects used for the steps were kind of... Bad. I probably think that because I think I could do better without much work. All the other sound effects are pretty good though and I have to commend them for that.
I'm still not getting that. It sounded like walking? Was walking on various terrain suppose to sound different?
Yeah, the footsteps would be pretty damn loud in canon. Notice how you can't sneak up on most covenant forces in campaign, how if you get tot close they always catch you. It only makes sense. The argument then is should they use what the sound would be if he was wearing the real mjolnir armor or the sound of the prop armor. Personally I go with the sound of the real armor, it certainly worked for the Elite.
i just think its hilarious how people who have no idea what goes into a production like this have the nerve to nitpick little things with the vfx and sfx.
I kind of do... It's actually one of my biggest interests... Mehh, I know you will continue to argue against me because it's "your thing" and all but I just felt like it didn't sound like it was in the same space as the people walking around him. It felt like he was walking outside instead of beside them. I'm not talking about the loudness necessarily either. I know that it's supposed to be louder. It just doesn't sound right in my opinion and you'll have to deal with it.
I could argue budget in the sound effects department but that's neither here or there. Haha. Still, it's a beautiful piece of work imo and all of the other sounds are awesomely done. Sorry if it came off as if I were bitching about it, I was just agreeing with another comment.
I haven't read through the thread and this is the first comment I got to, but I sincerely hope that's a rhetorical question.
Well if you want to be an asshat about it, think how you want to think. If walking sound fx really ruined a scene for you, so be it.
Wow... episode 5 was immense. Spoiler The detailing of the lekgolo is ****ing incredible! Not way before.. All covenant encounters are classified prior to the invasion of reach, with which most of the outer-colony worlds had already fallen. As the planet Corbula hasn't really been established anywhere prior to FUD, it could be an inner or outer colony world (likely inner colony as it's a training academy for the insurrectionists), so it's likely only a few years before Reach. However... this is only my speculation.
Fuuarrk. Fuaarkk. OOOOMG dat episode! Great finishing to a great masterpiece. Spoiler Also props to whoever did those hunters
Harvest: 2524 Corbula: 2526 Halo Wars: 2531 Reach: 2552 Halo CE: 2552 Onyx: 2552 (After Halo Activation) - I'm not sure with this one. The book states forerunner probes became active (After the Halo Activation from Halo CE), however, Reach was supposedly the last planet to fall before Earth. Halo 2: 2552 Halo 3 - ODST: 2552-3 Halo 3: 2552-3 Halo 4: 2557-8? With speculation, I think one of the episodes mentions that Lasky is 18... Judging by the engagements with the series in Halo Wars (which followed the storylines a little better than Halo Reach) the UNSC were already well engaged with the Covenant and knew about their weaponry, tactics, classifications etc... With that knowledge, this would place the Corbula invasion inbetween the Harvest and Halo Wars events. So, if Lasky is 18 at some point between 2524 and 2531 which would mean his maximum age is 52, and his minimum age is 44. Knowing Lasky's older age could help pinpoint in what year the event occured, and from there someone can work out the spartans I stand corrected to the event being way before Reach... I had no idea the Halo Wars events were so close to the invasion of Harvest. This is all under the speculation that Forward Unto Dawn follows the entire Halo Universe storyline without bending any rules like Halo Reach did...
I checked out the Halo Nation wiki and found out that the invasion was in 2526. Lasky was apperently born in 2512 which would place him as 14 years old at the time. So in 2557 he would be 45 (the events of Halo 4).
