Ya. I think that every thing has gotten wider. I thought i saw a snipenest in the vid. It looked like it was normal height and length but it was like sooooooooooooooooper wide. Just like your mother lolololol im so origional!
Yeah but unfortunately the lights themselves are not an improvement. They still basically cast no light, at least not to the levels of H3. Hoping they can be used in more enclosed spaces effectively.
I'm not terribly surprised. Everything is getting bigger to compensate for the faster movespeed (and sprint). The maps are massive in Halo 4 when compared to previous games. Even Haven is kind of big when you think about it. The outer ring is approaching Rat's Nest size. It's like 2 Midships put together, and that's a 'relatively small' map. RIP Small (and Covy) Maps 2001-2012
So. i wonder what our forging competitions are going to be for halo 4 if small maps are going to be almost out of the question. Hey there is a new topic. What kind of competitions do you think will come when halo 4 decides to get here? Small maps will be missed 2001-2012
I highly doubt small maps will be "almost out of the question." There will definitely be people that continue to make smaller maps.
None of you care about the lack of precision movement? This Forge looks more and more disappointing by the day.
I think most people have accepted that it's going to be bad and are just waiting to see how bad it is.
Definitely chaps my ass. You can get around it with the old move-and-immediately-release trick, but the inability to do small nudging the Reach way is just dumb. There is no coherent reason to remove that, and I'm calling it right now that magnetism won't be sufficient to make up the difference. Blah. In so many respects it feels like 343 put all their work into shiny bells and whistles for forge without really doing ANY work on the actual meat and bones of it. If Reach's Forge was forge 2.0, this is basically forge 2.1 - certainly doesn't warrant a major release number of its own. However, I will say again that if the only significant improvement they made is fixing the framerate and reskinning all the objects so that they're actually useable, then I'll still be pretty interested in forge. Those two things alone would make Reach forge so much more powerful than it is.
Frankly I'd be fine with more of the same from Reach, but losing Forge locations and features is aggravating. I'm surprised any of you are content.
Content? I would use disappointed personally. I would trade all of the new tools (magnets, duplicate, highlight/lock, etc.) any day for the infinitely more useful nudge tool (IMO). Magnets look really limited and basic from what I've seen (only lining up in the center on a lot of objects? I'm almost never doing that) although I can't say for sure yet cause I haven't seen much of Forge, and the other two tools look slightly more helpful, but honestly, was Deselect>Menu>Select same piece that hard? There were far more pressing issues (coughcoughFRAMERATEcoughcough) and far better and more useful innovations (weapon traits, refined man cannon systems, user map pictures and palette changes, for example) to be had IMO.
