Invasion was decent. As long as the map was good. Personally, I'm wondering where the **** is race? It was popular right? I mean, there were dosens of youtube cannels committed entirely to race 343 even referenced it in some of their forge videos. I can't imagine why it got cut.
also, to all the people saying "**** that gametype, its gonna be like COD" lets not forget that since its halo, its automatically better =P
With this huge overhaul 343i did to multiplayer (Infinity, AAs, etc.) you'd think they would do the same to forge.
They've really screwed over customs from what I've heard. Now we need to make Assault from Grifball, we most likely won't be able to make Race since it was removed and there are no signs of VIP... ugh.
at least if there was some logical reason I would be fine with it, but they seem to be ignoring it, which in fact, does not make it go away.
Extraction: instant plant/score. done similar to how it was done in VIP. Only the first person to cross the line gets a point. Race isn't in COD so people obviously don't like it.
I was under the impression that...but...I was told... Super sadfaic. In Reach, I go between MLG, Multi-Team and Rumble Pit. I don't find any other playlist particularly enjoyable anymore. None of those playlists are returning. I'm not counting Regicide as Rumble Pit. Yeah, I don't think I'm gonna play much MM. I think it will be Story, 10 games of MM, then Halo 3 or LoL.
but... correct me if im wrong but to my understanding, regicide is just rumble pit with a waypoint on the leader... whats so wrong about that?
A Waypoint and extra points for killing the king. In other words, king can get a spree for 50 points across 5 kills, 2nd can kill him once and get 50 points for that one kill. Not sure on the numbers, but it's something like that. I'm pretty sure the reward goes up to 50 points. I'd have to confirm it, though. It 'keeps everyone in the game'. In other words, it makes Rumble Pit even more random. In theory, a player could tie the leader with about a fifth as many kills. It becomes less about who is better at dueling and awareness and more about who can hunt down and kill the best player in the match the most (not hard with a waypoint). You get punished for winning. It's best to stay in second or third until the very end, instead of actually winning the entire time. Sounds silly to me. I'll give it a shot, but doesn't sound like my cup of tea.
=\ that does sound a bit silly. knowing how the average mind of the average player works, that sounds like its going to be a game of "follow the waypoint and spam nades at the waypoint"
I fully understand why you guys are upset, and I'm not saying you shouldn't express it, but I also fully understand why they got rid of so much. Half of it never got played. Why should they put in stuff that people vote against every time? Real nice restaurants do it with their menus too. Keep it very minimal and basic. Streamlined. It's very effective most of the time, and I think it'll be great for the matchmaking population. They won't be spreading themselves too thinly. I expect many responses to this telling me it's stupid, and they should've kept everything, and at least put it in customs, but if they put it in customs, the next argument would be that "if it's a custom game, why isn't it in matchmaking?"
