Hotel Zanzibar Created by: PA1NTS A re-imagination on the classic experience of Halo 2's Zanzibar and Halo 3's Last Resort, with a twist of Reach weapons and an added warthog for team gameplay. The map supports One Flag, One Bomb, Team Slayer, FFA, Juggernaut, Crazy King, Headhunter and Infection. It can support a wide range of player counts; from 4v4 to 8v8. I found this map quite challenging to make. I learned alot along the way, and I hope you enjoy the map as much as I enjoyed making it. Download Hotel Zanzibar Pictures:
Is the wheel cut off? Oh, no This was my favorite map from h2.. @Second to last pic So many vehicles... EDIT: Can't seem to download your map, is there something wrong with the link?
Haha, I still have the first version of this map. I wish you could have kept the top of the wheel, looks good nonetheless.
The top of the wheel was a completely different shade than the bottom. I thought I'd save some pieces and get rid of the bad lighting at the same time.
Nice job on this Paints, this has come a long way since I first saw it. This is definitely the best remake/ re-imagination of Zanzibar I have seen in Reach. It plays pretty well and instead of mimicking every detail of one of the maps you have blended elements of both with much needed changes for the Reach sandbox. Even at the end of Reach I'm glad to see that someone really got the Zanzibar remake right. @ Spin, that's the same number of vehicles as were on Zanzibar/ LR to begin with.
Great job on this PAINTS, the gameplay felt right at home. Def the best remake I've experienced or seen. Too bad it came into Reach so late, perhaps you can dupe this in H4...it'll look wierd without the nat terrain though.
Hopefully Overkill won't come and state his same opinions as he did in the Preview thread. OT, I have always liked this map. I'm glad it's been remade very well, at least from the looks of it. Definitely want to check this out sometime and get a game on it.
I suppose I haven't played Halo 2 in too long. I remember vehicles being there, but I don't remember that many. How do the vehicles work in terms of gameplay?
I played this map with you, like two days ago. 2v2, didnt work out that well. But i got an badass laser ending kill. But i really like this map, one of my favorite remakes ever. And for sure the best Zanzibar remake in reach. The map itself plays pretty good, bummer you had to cut off the wheel though, but that doesnt affect gameplay, for me it doesnt matter that much.' Great job paints.
