I've gone back and forth on wanting a halo movie. Currently I don't want one. Neil Blomkamp is on record saying he will not be a part of any planned movie in the future because the original try soured him on the project. Without him, I don't know if anyone else could give the material its proper respect.

Someone please give this girl some invisalign.

The best episode so far in the series, IMO.

the people who did the CGI on the scene where the space elevator got shot down deserves a lot of cookies.

I've thought the campus in general has been pretty convincing.

Honestly after that episode i have no doubt in halo 4 being great, if 343 is gunna be putting in the effort into a short live action series, they have a good understanding of the expectations of h4.

also lasky couldnt be promoted to a spartan, spartans were taken from their homes at the age of 8, and were biologically altered to grow big enough for the suits.

the elite looked sexy too, good job to the cgi guys

I think I remember in the books that IIIs were taken from orphanages as kids and stuff. IVs were the ones that were already adults and were just given an injection like the Is(ex: Sgt Johnson). Just some canon stuff here.

Spartan IIIs are generally older when they get abducted than Spartan IIs but they are still pretty young. I know Carter was like 12 when he was recruited. I think anyone Lasky's age would be too old.

IIIs werent abducted, they were orphans whose families were killed by the covenant, and they were asked if they wanted to be able to kill the aliens that killed their parents. most of course said yes, but they had the option.

the spartan IVs apparently started when they were adults, but Lasky still wouldnt be one, he's at an officer training academy. officers wouldnt become spartans, theyre not field soldiers. Kurt and whoever he made in charge at the end of ghosts of onyx (forget who) were the only spartans to be officers, besides 1 or 2 that failed the augmentation process and survived, but those were special cases. and jorge i think.

In case you guys somehow aren't aware, Lasky is the future commander of the Infinity.

If a man offers a child candy if they enter his van, and the child willingly gets in, that is still considered an abduction.

no, thats completely different and doesnt relate at all. tricking a young child into a van is not even remotely the same as offering someone the chance to avenge the death of their parents. and 10-12 years old isnt really a child anymore, they can think for themselves. and then when they first got to onyx for training and they had to drop out of pelicans right away, they had the option to go back if they didnt want to do it. they werent abducted. the spartan IIs were literally taken from there homes and replaced with a flash clone that would die in a few months. it wasnt the same at all.

Not really sure how any of this discussion relates to anything anymore (seeing as it's been established over and over again that Lasky does not become a Spartan) but just wanted to comment on the "10-12 year old isn't really a child anymore" part. From a developmental standpoint, they are. "Being able to think for oneself" is not what separates a child from an adult or even an adolescent.

well not physically of course, or by law, but from a psychological standpoint most 12 year olds have the same cognitive ability as any adult

    ....uh no they don't.

It's so clear that it's even been engrained in pop culture. There's a reason people say teenagers are entitled twats, a pain, so on. The brain doesn't stop developing until around 21, sometimes 25.
