While the civilization beyond burns into a pit of anarchy, the wooded outskirts remain quiet. For now. Take refuge in what remains of the campgrounds. A place once reserved for family fun and community gatherings, it brings safety for the time being, but it won't be long before they learn of your presence. When they do, they'll come in droves, mouths agape, wailing for your life. Fight for your life.

Halo Reach Infection Map -- Cabin Fever (Ridgeline) - YouTube

Cabin Fever is a map I actually created a while back (Dec 2011), but I never got around to getting it posted. This map is one of the more simple ones I've built, but the result is a clean and solid gameplay experience. I built Cabin Fever in the style of one of my older maps, Necro Street, with survivors defending small structures through self-constructed barricades.

The basic facets of the gameplay:
- Survivors begin with a standard shotgun/magnum/sprint loadout.
- Survivors spawn in scattered groups.
- There is three Cabins to choose from.
- Players must barricade their cabins w/ the crates provided.
- Zombies begin with the standard sword.
- Alphas dish out more damage than standard zombies.
- Zombies spawn in a sealed room.
- Once the Next Gen FX kicks in, the zombies are released.

Map Features:
- A red, blue, and white Cabin, all built with two doorways at either end and windows on either side.
- Each cabin features 2 covenant crates for barricade purposes.
- A warthog and mongoose are available if the players choose to use them.
- 2 bridges.
- Campsite complete w/ tents and campfire.
- Lantern posted at the center of the map.

Mouse-over the screenshot to see before & after the Next Gen FX spawn.

Aesthetically it looks great. The theme is nice, although I'm questioning those shiny pieces. (IDK what they're called...don't have Ridgeline).

How do headshots work out with the map? It looks relatively open, apart from the cabins themselves.

Looks great. Too bad I can't download it :(

This was a very enjoyable and great map to play on. Keep it up Insanmiac. All I need to say is that you should try to lower the minimum players on your maps, because 10 players is quite a lot if you can't get many people to come play. But overall 9/10.

Im suprised to see it up here yeah, i have seen this map a long time ago, but that doesnt matter for the quality of the map. It still has amazing gameplay. This map has some creative aesthetics that you would expect in the woods.. A campsite with a still burning fire, the cabins, the bridges, and even an light hanging from the tree (Lantern)

You have the time to find your gear, find shelter or roam around before the zombies are released wich is always nice.
And finally the vehicles you can use, providing very tense but fun gameplay. I loved this map back in december 2011, and now i still do.

PS : You should be more active here around Forgehub, its been a very long time i have seen you here :)

Man, this is pretty old, but I agree it's still a great map. Getting those Halo 3 style pallets is always a plus. I thought the trailer for this was one of your better ones as well.

Liking the theme a lot, seems to work well with Ridgline's trees and forest atmosphere. Its hard to make a themed infection map using nat terrain in forgeworld, everything has been done already. So your map feels like a new space, the prob is that not everyone has aniversary maps and full lobbies would be hard to come by.

Yeah, I have been real slow when it comes to posting new stuff, but I have been trying different formats for posting my Reach maps, trying to make my posts more efficient and clear. I am planning to do much more posting once Halo 4 launches.
