They are mostly for switches or gameplay gimmicks, like that Halo 3 elevator and the Pallet Parade map. Straight up awesome for customs.
I've yet to see them in a halfway decent map in reach though and yet there are pallets there. You can even change the color of the wood.
Uhm, pressure switches? One way doors? They are great for "technical" stylings in maps, a category which died with H3 Miss pallets so much.
Little flat objects usually made of wood, designed to stack things on top of to make them easier to move with a forklift or pallet jack. Wasn't destructible gravlifts more of an essential item than pallets for those though?
Then you are glad they are coming back right? And whats up with the obsession thing? I think people just like to use them for aesthetic purpose, or just somenthing you like to have like pyro said. Im not really curious how the pallets look, we can guess that pretty easily, what about the folding chair XD Wont look too different compared to a camping stool.
even though pallets are returning, somehow i highly doubt that switches, elevators, and all that fancy stuff from H3 will be returning with them. instead, i imagine people will have to think of a new way to do those sorts of things, if they can. perhaps some sort of elevator can be made with a trait/gravity zone, who knows...
If the gravzones affect pallets I can think of one way to do an elevator like the one on Ivory Tower/Reflection already.
or, if i can dream for a minute here, what if gravzones affect any object that is set to normal physics
But isnt that common sense? For a little maybe, i mean it would be weird if you go up and somenthing like a crate (on normal) wouldnt, i see this happening
talking about crates, yeah, it makes sense. but will it work on something like a 2x2 block? we'll see.
mmm. they already said that it only affects entities- players and vehicles with players in them. I think.
@Waylander. Ah, that makes sense. People could be getting confused... @Titmar It would be nice if that was true, but the number of gravity zones + their size is limited.. no huge zero G maps in impact
