Xzample here, with another Halo 4 announcement, brought to you by dyb inc. Forge 2.1 has officially been demoted to Forge 1.9, with news of the removal of the "nudge" feature. Stay tuned for more disappointing updates on Halo 4. 343 ftw
Probably the drop in-drop out thing. People would complain if they joined a game mid stream and it was extraction when they wanted to play CTF. Or some bullshit like that probably.
you guys do realize the playlists will be updated right? this is just the launch playlists. just sayin.
It still makes no sense. Release is when you really want a game to do well. If people like it on launch then the will talk their friends into playing it and so on. How ever if people do not enjoy the game they wont try to get other to play it. First impressions are always key. Why would you want it to be a watered down forced experience?
Pretty sure drop-in is dependent on playlist, they aren't retarded. rofl. Launch gametypes is what I'm complaining about, not playlsits. Like VIP getting ripped out of Reach.
This ^ big reason reach failed. That's really annoying to me, it indicated they used the "Forced rules" gametypes instead of just having the one default gametype with heaps of options (which is extremely limiting) Because i use the gametype as a the foundation to make my minigames from and if the gametypes are to limited I don't see many unique customgames/mini games coming out of it.
So let's hear some optimists view on how the removal of the nudge feature isn't a big deal... Titmar? Flyingshoe? I'm waiting... Not only did 343 ignore serious forgers in terms of new features, they removed features that were implemented for serious forgers.
I didn't even use the nudge feature until like a year into reach. "Hey wasn't there that detailed movement thing, I thought I saw it in the forge world video" "yeah..." "HOW DID I FORGET ABOUT THIS" I could've sworn they said it was back in the 10 minute forge video that was released recently.
One of us is confusing the "drop into matches mid-game" system with "inability to drop the flag" and I'm really not sure which one of us it is.
That's what I was just thinking, however the magnets may still be limiting. Only allowing the pieces to line up in a certain spot which could be a pain in the ass on somethings. Like placing a 3x3 next to a 4x4 block, will magnets only allow the 3x3 to be in the middle of the 4x4? What about if you turn a bridge upside down to join it up to the base round? will it be slightly higher than the top of the base? Nudge would still be very usefull.
Except CTF playlist max players is 10, 5v5 8v8 Objective BTB is my favorite gametypes sadfaic. Nudge would be 1000 times more useful.
Ah well, one man's retarded is another man's "OMG I LAV CALL OF DUTY" so... not sure who here sees that as a good thing but... yeah.
What was the point of this? Do you honestly think magnets can substitute fine tuning? If anything Halo 4 forge will be even more time consuming.
I don't see it as a good thing, I just see it as a different thing its a bad thing that it can't be turned off in custom games. I could change my opinion after actually using it though. Specially since there is waypoint on your head? Some funnest things to do is stealth run flags. So many games on hemorrhage picked up flag just hid in corner of base for ages then all leave to other base to search for flag while I walk up base tele half way cross map hiding waiting for them to go back so i can walk freely and score.
I feel sorry though in a way for 343, because here we are complaining immensely over some minor hinderances while we are forgetting the big picture that THEY ARE RELEASING A NEW HALO.
