In the video he mentions reloading and weapon swapping happens faster in Slayer Pro. I guess they think Infinity Slayer will attract the people who think that weapon swapping is too fast.
Winning a fight as the underdog is some of the funnest things you can do in a game. Dropin-Dropout=billion's more leaves, Fact. (it compensates by allowing people to join but its undeniable that having that system= a lot more people leaving a lot more games) But I HATE! it because when the game starts it starts and when it ends it ends and when i join a game i do my best to win(and have fun) Dedicated servers and drop in make each individual game feel unimportant. (when i play tf2 i don't care about winning every game i join, I join random games try to win but just have fun and leave when I want) And it will screw with my play style, when I play I observe every player on my team and enemy team and see how good everyone is and what I need to compensate for my team and what i need to do to hinder my enemy's advantages. With drop in (which means people will leave and join a lot more) I can't do that, So i just have to run around running and gunning then leaving because it doesn't matter if i stay.
yeah i agree, i dont see how drop-in is GOOD for competitive play like they were talking in the video. im fine with it, but that mindset's just a little backwards.
They could always do something like you get more credits/XP for finishing a game or some **** but yea there will probably still be a lot more leavers.
Dont have time to apostrophe, To busy raging. Actually my explanation explained it.(You know the two paragraphs after explaining why i hate it) But as long as it was explained doesn't matter how
No, it's not a fact as of yet. How do you know that players who want to leave decide not to just out of consideration for their team? Anyway, I understand why they would make slayer pro no radar, but it will leave me and others, probably less than completely satisfied with the 4v4 slayer selection. I would rather have a radar, because as far as I can tell, maps like countdown (possibly adrift and complex and others), with short sightlines and more than two entrances to almost every room, introduce an element of randomness because no amount of awareness/communication would give you enough information to almost always know where the next enemy will come from to kill you with (what was, at least) a short kill time- correct me if I'm wrong. I know that the best team will still win, and I would like it more the better and more competitive I was. I'm still not sure if I'll play infinity or slayer pro when I want 4v4 now... the movement speeds and other settings/sandboxes will be difficult to switch between, because I know that I'm playing BTB, which will be almost certainly be infinity. I guess I might deal with infinity 4v4...
Gametypes: * Capture the flag * Dominion * Extraction (new one) * Flood * Grifball * King of the Hill * Oddball * Regicide * Slayer I don't see race in that list. Is Extraction perhaps a versatile gametype from which we can derive both VIP and race?
I very much doubt it. Checkpoints, spawning on mongooses, laps, speed, respawning on the last checkpoint, e.c.t. If it include all those and they called it "extraction", i'll be ****ing surprised. They didn't release Rocket Race at launch though, so who knows.
Well if you use any other FPS with dropin-dropout as an indication. I don't see why Halo would be exempt from this rule. Till i was distracted i wanted to ask if the mammoth was old news and if it is forgeable even one of them on one map, All is forgiven...
Like a month and a half ago I wanted to ***** about drop in/drop out when I noticed it. But I checked the thread and literally no one ever mentioned it so I wondered if I imagined it.
I felt the EXACT same way when I was mentioning "weapons down" returning to Halo 4. Well except for the complaining part.
I guess this thread can handle only so much complaining When it hits the cap, people just don't mention other topics.
I think the lower rate of complaining over a longer period of time by bringing it up later results in more total complaining.
I was more discussing the global complaint level. Say, we no flag dropping was shown. The thread was so full of flag complaining, other topics like drop in couldn't be held
I know the feeling I just want someone to defend drop in so i can complain about drop in, In but you can't because I'm like "its bad" everyone else "I know" end of discussion. Everyone hates it, its not fair But flag dropping has merits and discussion topics with varied opinions. (I know that wasn't your point but still that's why I'm assuming drop in isn't been complained about enough)
[sarcasm]I love drop-in. It's not just that it gives me an excuse to drop out of a game because I know someone else will fill in for me (NO GUILT!) but because I can depend on the quality of player joining in. Furthermore, me joining a game where I find myself losing by a factor of 3 is just fine and dandy, though it does trouble me that I can't join a losing game that's JUST about to end like Call of Duty. Halo 5 maybe? One can hope.[/sarcasm] Complain away, dear son, complain away.
Halo 5 will just be whatever CoD game release just before with a second graphics engine on top to make it look like Halo. They were practicing this when they released CEA donchakno.
Icwutudidthar Sargeant Even excluding all that guilt free quitting horrible team quality where no one cares about winning especially the "less obligated" players who joined late onto a losing team. I have a feeling unless they implement a huge severe quitting ban and piss a lot of people off(worse then reach bans) or the rejoining process is really fast, I see a lot of games been ended by "enemy team has quit" over at least 10 times as many all other halo games combined.(That's my honest guess I may never personally experience it but out of the millions of players that are gonna play it its gonna happen some time, 343 wont ever release that info though) only ever happened a couple times in reach with horrible black screens but at the slightest inconvenience people could leave "died first"=quit, didn't get manits=quit, Betrayed for sniper=quit, Someone has quit=quit. Has got to lead to 1 in 10000~ games ending with "enemy team has quit" (even more games ending 1v4) If rejoining is near instant with no penalties then don't have to worry about "enemy team has quit you win" but instead even more quitters quitting for even more arbitrary reasons making your team composition even less consistent.
