I would expect 4 of them, as we can place 4 tanks. Then again, there may be ways to get more such as like Tutui did with FWOT (I believe that was not a mod.)
Finally some footage of a pretty good player destroying the opposing team on Haven. Lots of great Sticky Detonator kills and an extermination: STICKY DETONATOR EXTERMINATION!! Halo 4 Full Game - YouTube
What do you think the next bulletin is going to be about? September is over, so our chances of getting forge information has risen from zero. What do you guys think?
I see almost everyone's predicting completely different environments. I would lol if the other two worlds had a much more similar theme...
In lower tiers if mass void ray was so easy to do anyone could use and putting early pressure was to complex for players that never happened. So that anyone who used mass void ray won that game easily in low tiered games they would nerf it making even less viable in higher tiers. But Everything you said pretty much is logically consistent with what I said. Balancing has to make sure nothing is overpowered for every tier of play, But Higher tiers have priority in keeping most things viable Depends on how to coding works, Tanks where only allowed 4 because the traction of there movement caused to much lag not because they where stronger. You can't ***** slap but you can "Squish" with a stomp move and teabag. Haven't studied them that well but if there attacks aren't lock on and have slow randomish projectiles seems like scorpion>mantis long range
I remember playing Valhalla alot, and while I don't remember exactly how much was cut off, it does look a bit higher in Ragnarok. That doesn't mean that much is obscured, because it seems like a small height difference of that wall right in your face would seem to appear dramatic. I do remember always having to jump on top of it when I wanted to see either side (the only ranges I could hit with the BR anyway) :shotgun area or side mancannon area, and I couldn't see both within a second because of the middle lift part. Jumping back and forth in order to defend the base wasn't as fun as it first seemed like it would (when I used to just look at one side) after a minute or so. Edited by merge: The warthog and the mantis can push each other back every few seconds as they exchange fire, but the mantis wouldn't take significant damage unless it was teamed up against by another power weapon/vehicle. The warthog is effectively forbidden from going near the middle while that mantis is alive. Wherever the mantis is it can watch the sky, but it can see the banshee take off if it is by the laser hill. If the banshee has the same lock-on function for the bomb, then it could have a decent chance of destroying a fresh mantis, I suppose, but otherwise it would have to get into rocket range. Maybe the banshee's flip can avoid it. This is assuming that the other team doesn't already have a laser. You're right about the spawning weapons. I wonder how the other vehicles are going to deal with pulse/ 2 plasma grenades or a PP at spawn (really on BTB the PP is the only option; the pistol or boltshotgun would be useless- if the PP is carried, then a single pulse grenade would be redundant even though it might be a bit easier to use to paralyze a vehicle in some situations. This would leave PP+ 2 plasma grenades as the most common choice in BTB-use the several charged bolts so that you don't miss with and waste plasmas). They could hit the mantis mid mancannon, like the power drain could (if the physics which allowed you to throw the drain farther is the same in H4 for pulse nades). It's still important to consider, however, that when one mantis is down it's not going to be a mantis vs. a team, but a mantis and the team minus one versus a team. I have said this in a different way before: Mantis control will often lead to laser control (at any time except the opening), which will often lead to constant vehicle control and killing, which will lead to personal ordinance and a good chance of picking up non-personal ordinance. Those spawning paralyzers would be their only hope. It may seem as though the paralyzers/ plasma grenades will hit the slower mantis harder than the warthog, but the purpose of putting two players into a warthog (one gun more powerful than sidearms) was that it could push where infantry couldn't. Parties of 8 generals dominated with it. Now with up to 8 PPs and 16 plasmas concentrated on the enemy's side of the map at any given time, the hog pathways won't be wide enough to allow it to avoid spawning weapons for any reasonable length of time. Infantry will naturally keep pace with the mantis, however, and make its slow push unstoppable by non power weapons or vehicles, even against a couple more enemies, until they reach the midway point.
Side note: I think that the wraith (which was on the default forge Valhalla but not in any non-BTB-heavies variant) would fit in at least as nicely as the mantis would, if they're going to add a slow laser-surviving vehicle with explosives capable of destroying vehicles (and make the hog play extremely defensively while it's alive). It's not as easy to simply lock down the surrounding area with the H3 wraith, or keep infantry from swarming and jacking you. If there's any vehicle which the vehicle mod (shorter EMP/ health recharge time) will help significantly, it will be the mantis.
They'll probably show off Ragnarok and Valhalla in the Bulletin as well as the new map that's supposedly being revealed by IGN today.
With any luck the new map will be smaller. They're placing a huge amount of focus on larger maps this time around.
Yeah I hope the map will be slightly smaller, but I do like the feeling of having more than 2 maps in BTB like in Reach
Bungie really screwed the pooch on BTB in Reach, so I don't blame them. But hopefully there will also be a good complement of smaller maps, and if we're a little thin in that area, forge can fill the gap. Forge is a lot better for making mid-sized maps than huge ones.
Bungie really screwed the pooch on all maps in Reach. I'm really hoping 343i steps up and delivers on some quality maps. So far I've been somewhat skeptical, aside from Valhalla, and possibly haven. Adrift looks to be pretty bad. And I haven't seen enough gameplay of the two bigger maps to make a strict judgement, but I haven't been impressed with what I've actually seen.
New Multiplayer map: Abandon Aside from the cool looking scenery, it looks like it will play like ****, IMO.
