    Hey guys It's FM and the BB back with a new MLG map called Escalation.

    Escalation is a MLG slayer/CTF map created by yours truly. The map is symmetrical with great flow and amazing gameplay. At first glance you will love the design, play, and the whole map over all. Many of my friends ,and even some of their friends, think the map is amazing, and love just about everything that goes with it. Take a look, download, and have fun on Escalation.

    This is mainly for Slayer gametypes. (4v4, 2v2, FFA, and multi team) Though also works for CTF.

    Power weapons:
    ♦Rocket launcher x1: No spare clips - spawn 135 sec
    ♦Sniper Rifle x2: No spare clips - spawn 80 sec
    ♦Custom Power Up x1: spawn 125 sec
    ♦Health pack x2: spawn 45 sec​

    I really like the building use in the second to last picture :p

    From the overview, it looks like the sniper rifle rooms and the rocket launcher area would be easily campable. Apart from that, which I'm not even sure about as I'm having trouble placing the pictures into the overview, the map looks fine to me. Aesthetics are clean and consistent. What is that wall piece on the rightmost part of the fourth to last pic?

    that's a walkway large; the last piece in the platform structures.
    BTW, the rocket's are on the lowest point of the map and seem to have the least flow to them. It sometimes even goes forgotten. Especially with new players. Unless they spawn down there.

    I think you may have uploaded the wrong version of this?
    The version I downloaded has no ceilings, and is missing walls in some places...

    the flooring inthe 2nd pic is amazing. the map looks like it would fit well for slayer but the rocket hall seems like it would be forgotin while in a match

    I really like the look of the narrow, multi-tiered ramps. Not sure I can tell how it will play from the pictures, but I will download and check it out.

    FM and BB, you know I think you're a cool guy, but that description is broken. Instead of describing the geometry, what you're intention was, how it plays, etc; you describe how you think I will feel when I first see the map.

    As for the map: The map appears to be too segmented, resulting in restricted movement and restricted line of sight, making the map near impossible to control.

    The perimeter of the map feels purely transitional, and doesn't serve much purpose. The perimeter needs to interact with the center more. It also needs more dancefloor, less hallway.

    For right now, the map will play uncontrollably during slayer, due to the separated central atrium. With some adjustments to the design, this could be a solid multiple flag map.

    I think what would be really cool on this map would be a second level over the custom power up. You could then put the powerup there so those three power weapons wouldn't be so close to each other. Also, for the rocket room make a third hallway that breaks up the blocked off space in front of it

    The only problem with your idea is that I have $645 left and the only structures that can be used are 5 platforms, 50 natural, and 2 grids. So I don't think I will. Also it has played very well so far, and do not intend to change the map any further.

    I can't help but feel like my feedback has been ignored.

    You may be happy with the way it plays, but that doesn't mean the map can't be improved.

    Honestly, your friends will find the good in your map, not the bad. Having people enjoy playing it is great, but you shouldn't use it to "prove" to yourself or anybody else that it is a good design. The best people to give you feedback, are forgers who don't tip toe around your feelings.

    Yeah I understand what you're poking at; don't feel like you're criticism has been brushed off as nothing. The map can improve, but the layout isn't the thing to change. The only thing that would need to change would be if frame-rate ever became an issue. Though I haven't had any and no body else complains about I can't say others won't. Needless to say the map does have good layout, good play, and good design. IDK if you ever played on it, but take a look if you are going to post more about this map.

    I'm telling you the layout can improve, and I'm giving you the reason why the layout causes problems, and how you can fix them. If you don't want to change the layout, fine. But don't act like the layout can't be improved.

    Again, you probably haven't had any forgers look at it. Your friends are the last people who will give you constructive criticism. It isn't needless to say, and the term "good" is only defined by the person using it.

    If I were to give you some in depth feedback, then I would check out the map. Every problem I stated can be seen from the overview of the map. It isn't a complex map, it is easy to see how it will play.

    You can't just disregard someone's critique on a map completely. I'm not saying if xzample's thoughts were right or wrong. But you at least need to take it into consideration. The only way to make a great map is taking in all the feedback you get and seeing what works and what doesn't. The "I know what I'm doing and no one else can help make this better" mentality won't get you anywhere.

    Just my 2 cents
