I think it just scales the price and loot as you level. Does anyone know what the vault symbols all over the place do when you find them?
that is it? really? Damn, I was kinda expecting something more than that, what with all the easter eggs all over the place.
Levels* I'm at about a lot now. I posted it in the loot thread, but it's gone up a bit since then. I'm just curious to see what you guys have in comparison.
I'd have to double check for the actual number, but it's around 217. However I am only level 11, so I haven't really played a whole lot yet.
My friend just told me he wanted to finish the BL1 DLC, we skipped Moxxi the first time around (And will this time) but my question is, should I play Claptrap's DLC? I ask here because I want to know specifically if it's referenced in the game, and also if it's worth it by its own merits.
I personally didnt think it was worth it. to me, it just felt like more of the same as the rest of BL1. the only DLC i thought was really worth it was knoxx
so far as I can tell, none of the dlc of the original is referenced in the main story, there aren't any references in there that have a huge impact on your understanding of this games plot. There are however little ones that you may or may not catch whilst you play and do side missions and just explore. I could be terribly wrong though, I'm not really that far into the game.
There's one I've encountered rather late in the game with Moxxi, it's only a small reference, and I won't spoil it.
Zer0 starts off pretty slow, but as you progress he get's pretty awesome compared to the other characters. The ability to dance in and out of combat dealing massive damage, all while invisible, is ridiculous in later levels.
I'm only level 12 and I can see that already happening, I don't really understand what people expect from his ability if they aren't doing that. While the others can use theirs to turn to when they can't just down people with guns, his ability really feels like it is part of how he fights. It just feels good. As for whether or not the DLC for the original were worth it, well I have all of them so I suppose I can answer; Spoiler • Zombie Island: Definitely worth it, great story, great enemies, great humour. • Underdome: Not worth it, tedious grind, little to no story, only real aspect I liked was the banking. • Secret Armory: Really worth it, added pretty much the only endgame boss, great amount of content, probably the largest expansion in terms of areas to explore and features included like new vehicles. •Robolution: Not worth it, added slightly areas than the armory did, but all enemies were just re-skinned versions of pre-existing ones, all bosses were pre-existing ones re-skinned, and it included some of the most tedious achievements and quests in all of them, including the one you have to find weird crap like panties and pizza which are rare drops from the claptraps, problem being you just had to get lucky because even if you get all of one thing it will still drop, reducing the chance of the others appearing.
With a class mod and the first bloodshed perk i got +700% damage against enemies with low hp, but i found a new one and remapped my skills so now i have +700% critical hit damage.
I'm actually using "Shadow Ninja" with +24% melee damage and +2 to Backstab. XP I really like just running into crowds of psychos and bopping them all on the back of the head with my sword.
Personally, I got all the DLC, and thought they were all better than the original game. Except the underdome, but that was still fun, and I REALLLLLY liked the banking feature.
I still maintain that Zombie Island of Dr. Ned was the best add-on (including expansions) I've ever bought. Even more than Counter-Strike: Opposing Force. It added new content and mechanics, referenced a shitton, and was completely hilarious. It was exactly what I wanted out of BL's main storyline and didn't get, and what I was going to write to Gearbox about for BL2. Man I wish I could work for them just to write **** like that.
You'll love this game then. One of the bandits yells "I'm the one who knocks!" as he charges you. Little amazing **** like that.
