No. I mean they are a collection of people taken from the general population based on a certain trait or traits that can be identified. Just like I could say people are a "sub-division" based on their race, religion, job, or any other identifying characteristic. There is no positive or negative context in the term. At least there wasn't when I used it. And, that is completely morally fine. I find (certain) black women attractive, but that doesn't mean I'm morally any better than you. It just means that I can be attracted to a woman with certain traits that generally "turn you off" so to speak. Also, shut up chuck.
