wow, its so funny I had the exact same idea for a map. A gunship vs. small fighter craft. I've actually been working on such a map for the past week, I haven't released it yet because I need to test it more for balance issues. send me a friend invite if you want to help test it some time. the gunship has 2 wraiths locked in place, but can rotate 360 degrees, as well as 2 prowler guns locked into place on the wings. there are 4 plasma turrents installed as well.
Wow Jackal, that ship looks as good as mine! I can't wait for your release. Is that ship supposed to be based on a Klingon ship from Star Trek though?
I started to build it with the fields of fire in mind. I thought about using the tank, but figured it would be too overpowered vs planes. (But I like what you did with your map limiting it's field of fire so it wasn't so powerful). So yah, I was going to use wraiths but because of their arced shots they pretty much have to be open to the top. So I had to make the top of the ship as open as I could (couldn't build up above the wraiths like a control tower or tail fins). So once I started building with the front part it looked kinda like a romulan ship or something? I'm not sure if that's what that is in your pic but its the kind of design it reminded me of. With the long neck and downward sloping wings. Btw I really like the lower shot of your ship, it looks just like the convenant ones with the kinda violen shaped body.
Blue? I placed the walls in proximity to some of the glitched boxes. Sometimes, one of the light blue boxes turns neon blue. I figured out that if you create a box in monitor mode, the box will sometimes take the color of whatever object you're looking at when you do it. I looked at the bright blue patches of ice when I spawned the neon blue boxes, but for some reason, I could only make three of that color. The light created by the glitched blue boxes also has this weird property of "jumping" onto other objects nearby. That's how I got the walls blue. In addition, whever you interlock two boxes, they almost always become the same color. I used this glitch to make the colors on my ship as even as I could. It still isn't perfect though.
This would make such Awesome CTF/assault games but It says theres not enough money for goal placement
I'm working on fixing that. I ran into the damn item limit, so I have to delete some of the less important stuff before I can place those. If you want, you can remove the assualt goals and replace them with CTF ones in the meantime. Also, should I move the ship's central platform down to make the floors completely flat?
This has got to be the greatest ship I've seen on Avalanche so far. I love hows its so perfectly crafted.
This ship looks amazing! very good interlocking and map design. i will deffinitly have to download and take a closer look at all the details. ^^
Ok Sweet I'll try removing the assault things. And I like the raised platform, it gives a feel of a control area.

I deleted those preview pics from your thread since I released the map on bungie.net (it's called "Air Raid" if you want to check it out). I was planning on maybe making one more ship map on avalanche and I think I might have some cool ideas to try out if you, or anyone else wants to help make it.
