Hmmmm sorta. It might be. Looks like it. Yeah I think it is a crashed frigate. [br][/br]Edited by merge: Well lookie here. Its the exile map. Halo 4 Exile Map Yup. If you looked at the 4th picture, CTF looks pretty fun. EDIT: Found out how to embed an image.
Exile looks like a pretty awesome map. Stoked about that.... Buuuuuut..... YOU CAN'T DROP THE FREAKING FLAG! There better be an announcement saying that this bollocks was just for PAX, like how they turned off betrayals at E3... If flag juggling is completely removed from Vanilla settings, I'm seriously rethinking buying the game. This is so damn frustrating. One day I see **** I get excited for, then the next day I see absolute garbage.
I really think think they were just showing off one of their many customization options while getting some feedback on it as well. I'm sure they just wanted to see the reaction, I hope....
It has been confirmed. Both Bravo and Eli confirmed it. I wouldn't pissed if it hadn't been confirmed.
Oh.... so you can't drop the flag?!?! thats worse than I thought. But..... it sorta depends on your point of view. You could think of it as bad, or ok. Because you don't drop the flag much, anyway, unless you're just giving it to a teammate.
Maybe he means confirmed by 343 as the nature of the game, rather than a build specific thing or custom option. I hope to god it's either of those, I'm with you on how annoying this will be if not, 4v4 CTF is easily my all time favourite form of Halo. It becomes an important decision even at slightly higher levels of competitive play. Juggling is the most obviously affected (or removed) aspect of flag play, but the ability to drop and fight is also key. I much prefer this to the idea of having a pistol but not being able to drop. Dropping to fight is an important decision, balanced between full combat ability (vs just a Pistol) and revealing your position. This requires a more developed form of teamwork if you ask me. Removing the ability to drop reduces options for running strats, and enabling the person to fight even a little without revealing position means there isn't as much demand on runners to work with their team. Currently, you either have backup so you don't have to drop, or you drop and fight but have to know that your team can make up for the fact that you just gave up your position. Meh, hopefully we'll hear official confirmation of what this means for the final game soon, I maintain hope that it's either a build thing or an option, but if not then booooooooooo.
@caughtsword When you flagglitch, you drop the flag repeatedly. Something to the effect of throwing the flag, sprinting a short distance, picking up the flag again and immediately throwing it. That way, you don't lose speed while holding the flag. IDK. I never really used it because I was terrible... kept missing the flag.
I'm calling Bullshit, I don't beleive that one characteristic of a gametype that you probably won't even play that much will stop you from buying the game. You're a forger like the rest of us, you'd get it for forge alone like I would. I think that CTF was a broken gametype in the past. It was CTF for one cap, then camp and kill. If not being able to drop the flag makes the game more focused on the actual objective then I am ALLLLL for it, and you guys should be too.
It still brings doubts to whether or not I want the game... But, there will probably be more positives that out weigh it. At least I hope so. But as for being a forger, I'm not even thaaaaat interested in it anymore. Forge is extremely limiting still and I'm in for a looooooong and rough school year. I don't know if I'll really even have the time to play much anymore.
I have the same questions about buying it... I probably won't get it right away.. gotta judge how popular the classic playlist is and how goddamn stupid the changes are. I really don't know anymore...
It's about time we can put a name to the sniper. Also, concussion rifle confirmed to be back: http://i.imgur.com/nqs4w.png And regen ability: Regeneration Field works more defensively, like an updated Regenerator from Halo 3 but with a twist: upon use, it deploys a force wave that pushes opponents off your immediate six, followed by a shield regenerating health buff of sorts. http://img819.imageshack.us/img819/1685/regenfield3.png Autosentry has also been spotted as an AA: Autosentry is a stationary bot that shoots at enemies, fairly powerful. Vulnerable while deploying. Lasts about 30 sec, easily destroyed.
I've already seen enough to know I will enjoy the game more than Reach. The maps they have shown look pretty good (especially for BTB) the vehicles seem a bit more balanced and the new weapon set looks great. Not being able to drop the flag looks a bit annoying, but in the end it doesn't exactly kill the game for me. They have improved or fixed so much in the game that I don't think I will let some aspects of the game in a non-final build affect my decision. Edit: Is there a source for that Conc. Rifle? A pic from Imgur really doesn't tell me anything, and it looks a lot like the Reach one.
Here's the original pic that was taken from: http://a6.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/561601_345801745505975_2021508742_n.jpg Crazybydefault, post #19 from here confirms that he did in fact pick up the conc. rifle. There will also be a 10 minute ViDoc during the Halo Reborn panel as well as an HD version up somewhere later today. Welcome back Mk. VI.
yeah, it was shot in the very corner of the screen of the unsc weapons video (although it wasn't a unsc weapon
I'm hoping for somebody actively using it for a while. So far I've seen somebody carrying it for a while after using the Suppressor, but then jumping into a Warthog. The full video of that might be handy, but I'm still working on tracking it down. Edit: Found it - watching now Edit again: Doesn't look like it, but lol FOTUS Edit a third time: The clip of it from the weapons vid looked like it was a flame thrower right? I want to confirm that.
