Looks like a warthog sitting in a canyon. Possibly below the area we saw in the Forge demo, judging by the basic layout and color scheme. It looks like there is some structural/vehicular object in the foreground (or a rock), and the grey spot on that hill to the right in the background could be rocks, but it's looks metallic in color, and I can almost make out some lines that might indicate that it's a structure. Probably the map they're demoing at PAX. [br][/br]Edited by merge: Sort of. This is the best my wife and I can do, without putting a lot of time into it. Spoiler
So you're saying it shouldn't be a playlist because you didn't like it? Infection is one of the most played playlists, if that isn't reason enough to keep it I don't know what is.
I've always thought it would perform rather well, it was the one map I really wanted to see remade in Reach. I feel that Sprint would come in to play most with the routes from base to top mid, whilst still hopefully keeping the benefit vs. risk speed-route of the cannons, and also the routes from base side doors to the respective corridors/rocks. It'd be kinda nice to have a little help in breaking out of base against a top mid setup or Banshee pro. Oh hell yeah. Bumper Jumper now looks totally awesome. I'm not sure if I'd prefer having AA on right bumper and melee on a face button, but that's not too large a quibble since right now I'm more drawn to single push AAs rather than press-and-hold ones like JP or Hard Light Shield. That is, of course, assuming that Pro Vision is a toggle on/off deal rather than press-and-hold. I seriously hope it's the former. However, I still don't get why we can't have custom controls. If there's actually a good reason, tell us so we're not just wondering why we're being left out in the cold. Not sure if lacking eyes...or brain....
well, it went from pixelated to pixelated and blurry. And I'm not even sure that relates to the game. I bet it's just fan art or something.
The blurring is supposed to make it easier to see the overall picture by smoothing the difference between the pixels. It doesn't make it clear, but imo it definitely makes it somewhat clearer. I'd guess it's concept art rather than fan art. Why would they pixelate fan art and put it in an update? And if it's fan art, why hasn't the original surfaced? They're not going to pixelate something when the original, unmodified version is already in the community domain, that'd be stupid.
Not sure what that means. Rocket hog race on Hemorrhage is a pretty decent game, and it has one significant advantage over rocket race in H3 - teleporting back to your hog prevents the non-stop griefing that ruined so many rocket race matches. The one big problem with rocket hog race is it really only works on Hemorrhage (and is meh on Breakpoint, I guess) - you need a lot of wide-open real estate for the gametype to make any sense. Rocket hog race on The Spire or Paradiso is just stupid. [br][/br]Edited by merge: I've speculated before, and I think 343 actually confirmed this recently, that the main reason is to avoid BXR-type glitches. They have to test the crap out of every controller config to avoid those problems, and if they give us custom controls then such thorough testing becomes impossible. Now maybe better programming in response to the controls (regardless of which buttons they're issuing from) would help, but if they miss one or two things, it could really affect any kind of competitive play of the game, or worse.
And 343 should definitely listen to you, because you and the four other guys who play MLG all day will definitely give them three hundred whole dollars for your copies of Halo 4. (Sarcasm!)
I so want that, its super sick. I'm glad they finally changed the Bumper Jumper controls (it used to be X to melee and LT to use the amour ablity in the E3 Build) still wondering what that picture is of tho...
So i think that blurred picture is Valhalla. on the enclosed side, not the ocean side. It has a hill going upwards on the right hand side, and then it looks like a cave in the background, where the rocks were falling over over the river.
I agree with Peg, Bumper Jumper looks pretty darn awesome again. I'll definitely be using that. I would bet you that the image at the end was just put into Photoshop and given the Mosaic filter, probably with all of the default settings. You can't get the original from it; it's taking the averaged color from each shape and applying it to the whole shape. I'm guessing that the image is a map that we would be familiar with, given that it must be an area that we would recognize if the area was not filtered. Otherwise, there would be no need to obscure the image. If I had to say, I would agree with Cheeze that it looks like it could be Valhalla, or maybe even Blood Gulch (view from in front of cliffside cave to cliffside base; I don't remember which color that was in Reach). Though I really hope the Gulch isn't coming back again...it just doesn't work anymore. It could also be a map that had a texture set that was snowy or sandy originally, but I can't think of any other big maps like that which would fit this picture.
