This map looks amazing! The place looks gloomy and I like how the map has been set out. This is just a Forge rookie saying this but I would personally use slightly different SFX to make it look more darker or gloomier. But the SFX here still makes the map look great. Great job with it!
@xzamplez Eh. He's built holdout points into the map. I still don't know what the starting weapon is... I haven't looked at the actual gametype in Halo yet.
Last time I played I the starting weapon was a shotgun. May have changed though. In a free roam infection map if the humans survive it's because the zombies are just getting mowed down and have no chance at taking down humans that are playing decently. I had a lot of fun as both a human and zombie on this and I wouldn't want that to change.
I disagree. As I human, I felt encouraged to have my back against a wall and defend until I was out numbered. Gameplay was stale as a human, IMO. If humans were encouraged to move around, I believe it would make gameplay more strategic for both parties.
Great map, Love the aesthetics and the terrain in this map, i know this sort of goes without saying but the way you incorporated the forge world water into the map as the main sewage water is awesome. great job warholic, you have earned my download!
That would make for an interesting gametype, but what starting weapon would you use? Something weak, to encourage teamwork and constant moving? Or something strong, to make up for the movement speed? Also, practically every Bungie infection map is free-roam and extremely campable/breakable. They even had to remove Pinnacle and Sword Base cause they were so bad...

I did some speed tests with a huge squeaker lobby, god are they brutally honest. I love that about them, nothing else. I'm going to take out camo, no one enjoyed being taken out by an invisible zombie. So I replaced it with sprint and compensated by increasing the initial zombie spawns to 3 (only had one before). No complaints at the start anymore. In my attempt to reduce framerate, I extended an area of the map and actually made it worse. So I'm still fiddling around with this. It seems ok when green lights are removed but it unfortunately changes the atmosphere. Speed tests also conducted. I tried sprint loadout and 90% human speed (didn't feel necessary and changed up the gameplay too much). I gave humans 120% speed and reduced zombies to 110% (felt balanced but slower kill times). I'm liking 120% for both parties right now but will do more testing on this before the decision's final. EDIT: @Remkings - any recommendations to title change? Here's a few I was considering: - Pathogen - Septic - Contamination - Floodgate I want to make this map for a large target audience though, so I thought "sewers" would be easier to find in a custom map list. There's no backstory to the map either, but my inspiration came from the film "Aliens", "The Host" and classic pacman.
Not Floodgate. I believe that's an Invasion map in matchmaking, so it's officially taken. Septic reminds me of a tank where crap is stored, not a sewer, so I wouldn't go with that either. Honestly, I think Sewers is fine as it is - your map is different enough from those stupid "hey lolz sewer map im so cool" maps that it doesn't matter.
@ Minion - I hope soon, but I haven't been able to work on it this past week. I'll have more time now. I built a V3 and love the design but will be releasing the V2 for framerate reasons. I still need to clean up my selection, do some budget cuts and I'm done. @ Xzamples - I did another round of speed tests and really liked humans traveling faster than zombies. The pace of the game feels slower to me, but there's a significant increase in human movement. Humans - 120% zombies - 100% Before, it was mostly fun to be a zombie. Now I'm balancing this out so its equally enjoyable for both parties. Going to take these settings to a squeaker lobby for some final votes / opinions. They tend to have no bias and I like their raw opinions on gameplay.
Still i kinda agree with REMkings here and also with SpinCycle, sewers is just an very common name for an sewer map, but like Spin says you dont are someone who makes a map in the water and thinks its good, this is actually the best sewer map that i have seen. I have lots of name suggestions, but maybe sewers is just fine as it is.
Yup... Completely agree with this. Great map, but it needs a much better name. I've seen many people try to make sewer maps, some have been very fun. But this one crushes all of them.
You should call it "Dirty Passageway" or "Unusual leakage" instead of Sewers. They're more unique. It does look pretty nice mind. Those waters are a bit too clean to be sewers though. Maybe you should call it "Unknown Water Source" or "Wet Beginnings"
